/11/2009 - NEW YORK – SA Cavaly of Haiti and Alpha United of Guyana will host first-leg matches in the first round of the Caribbean Club Champions Cup, altering the order of the previously announced schedule because of travel anomalies. A holiday in Aruba and a “market day” in Haiti that restricted air flights necessitated that Alpha United face Tempete FC of Haiti at home in Georgetown on March 21, and Cavaly host SV Britannia of Aruba on March 22 in Leogane. Tempete and Britannia were to host the first legs on March 18. Tempete will host the second leg against Alpha United on March 25 while SV Britannia will be home for the second leg against Cavaly on March 30. Other changes included Sevilla FC changing the date of its first leg home match against the Green Bay Hoppers from March 18 to March 21, and the Hoppers of Antigua delaying the second leg until March 29. The second leg schedule remains unchanged, with the first legs set for April 13 and the second leg a week later. Single-game semifinals are set for May 15 in Trinidad & Tobago, which also will host the final and third-place game two days later. The Caribbean Club Champions Cup will qualify three teams to next season’s CONCACAF Champions League. According to a T&T News report W Connection were up 4-0 in the 60th minute with Hughton Hector scoring a hat trick
I predict that P. Rico Islanders , WConnection and Jabloteh will qualify from the Caribbean. Anyone knows why Jam teams are not taking part ?

The away team won both games. http://www.soccerway.com/international/nc-america/cfu-champions-cup/round-1/round-1/ says the second leg of Tempete FC:Alpha United will be April 5 which is a week later than CONCACAF says the game will be played.
http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.aspx?id=4680 is what CONCACAF wrote about yesterday's two games.
W connection and Jabloteh are both very strong teams. I think these two and PR Islanders will qualify fro the CFU.
http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20...pers-green-bay/sevilla-fc-puerto-rico/742160/ says Green Bay Hoppers 2:0 Sevilla FC (GBH wins 5:3 on aggregate after the first leg was a draw). http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20...bay/sevilla-fc-puerto-rico/742160/statistics/ has statistics for the two games.
http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.aspx?id=4686 says SA Cavaly of Haiti won 1:0 at SV Britannia of Aruba. The aggregate was 6:0. Soccerway was right that the second leg of Tempete FC-Alpha United was postponed. http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20...s-cup/sv-britannia-piedra-plat/cavaly/742163/ and http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20...itannia-piedra-plat/cavaly/742163/statistics/ are about the SA Cavaly-SV Britannia matchups.
Second Round First Leg: April 13 Second Leg: April 20 *San Juan Jabloteh (Trinidad) vs. Moengo Tapoe (Suriname) *Greenbay Hoppers (Antigua) vs. Tempete-Alpha United winner *W Connection (Trinidad) vs. SA Cavaly (Haiti) http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.aspx?id=4686
The first round is now complete and the field is down to 7 teams after Tempete FC 2:0 Alpha United. Tempete FC advances 3:1 on aggregate after a draw the first leg. http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20...champions-cup/tempete-fc/alpha-united/742162/ and http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20...up/tempete-fc/alpha-united/742162/statistics/ have information. It makes the Guyanese and Aruban leagues look bad that teams from those leagues lost to the 6th and 12th place teams out of 14 from Haiti (Tempete FC was 12th albeit with a goal differential that wasn't horrible). It also shows the problems CFU has in that the best clubs don't attempt to qualify for the Champions League.
ALL teams are there because they won or where runners up in their leagues in 2008, their current possition in their league dosnt really apply. The only strong teams missing are the Jamaicans.
http://www.concacaf.com/view_article.aspx?id=4703 has the second round schedule. Two of the three series will play on April 13 and April 20. The other series will play on April 20 and May 1.
http://www.soccerway.com/matches/2009/04/14/nc-america/cfu-champions-cup/w-connection/cavaly/766379/ says W Connection is up 3:0 on SA Cavaly in the 69th minute. http://www.soccerway.com/matches/20.../san-juan-jabloteh/inter-moengo-tapoe/766337/ says San Juan Jabloteh scored the winning goal in the 86th minute in a 2:1 win over Inter Moengotapoe.
