As noted numerous times already, that atmosphere last night was terrific. Except those stupid fan horns. Why the hell do people have them anyways? It was a glorious night last night, but every time someone blew that stupid horn, it brought back bad memories of 10k people in 80k capacity football stadiums and the FO's attempt of bringing 'atmosphere' into the game...Well you know what, noxious gas could be an atmosphere, but it's not necessarily what I'd like to experience.

AGREED! Find horns irritating. Other minor complaint was the use of prerecorded pop music on PA before game when Supporters were singing and chanting. You couldn't hear them over the music, and while I have my issues with some aspects of supporter groups this is one instance where i thought it was the perfect setting for them to get attention from more "casual" fans.

Also, kudos to all fans for not inducing the "wave" once all night. How refreshing.

It sounds like a loud fart... or a wookie. It's annoying when you're trying to enjoy the game.

Those fan horns are absolutely ridiculous. Can MLS find some way of banning them?

Showering the corner with streamers while an opponent tries a corner kick is better than those monstrosities (ah, those were good times at BMO :D ).

Memo to those who were in Section 240: you have been officially banned from attending the next Sounders home match for doing the wave. :D :p :D

For some reason I thought the streamers were banned. Did anyone read the new "fan code of conduct" sent out by MLS? :D

ECS took care of that problem in one case... there was one horn snapped in half toward the aisleway in 121/122 :D

Actually SSFC was making money on the horns -- $5 each. How do I know? My 16-year-old bought one and blasted that mother all night. I laughed my butt off.

Good times man. Let everyone have them.

    They are pretty annoying.
A one note drone is not atmosphere.

People should learn the songs and use their mouths to sing/chant.

    My personal opinion of course.

A Rapids fan here, just wanted to chime in while trolling the forums. The horn situation is terrible and I wish MLS would do something about it. I canceled my season tickets to the Rapids until they do something about it.

Last year was too much, after seeing two fights, after watching entire sections clear out because some moron thinks it's funny that his kid gets to blow a horn.. after watching drunk aholes use it as a tool to do everything they can to annoy fans and not get into the game, I had enough.

I think teams like the LA Galaxy actually ban them from the stadium and I wish other teams will follow suit. I wont go to another Rapids game though until they do something about it. I'll stick with Driect Kick and watch them from home.

Great start for you guys, looking forward to watching more of your games.

    I HATE THE DAMN HORNS!
Very immature stuff for a football game, very! I remember the boring LA fans over using them back in the days until their front office banned them after receiving many complaints from people about them.

Let's ban them immediately before the problem extends.

No, and it's all part of the Sounders' plans. Sell the horn to the kid, kid annoys people with it, somebody breaks it, kid's dad has to buy another one. :D

I thought the horns will get annoying, but I really thought that Thursday was about being loud and to show the MLS how we do it up here in the PNW. I think the horns helped with the overall noise. I was in the south end and sung some of the songs. Could not hear the songs sometimes because of the band(I like them, but not in the GA). I feel that as the season goes on that we will get better at singing songs/chants together. And maybe the horns will be gone. Loved all the stuff that happened in the Southend and I am so glad that I have tickets down there. The tifo was awesome and you guys kicked ass(ECS).

I don't think destroying someone elses property is cool, even if it is a plastic horn. It is a violent type act. It is no different than someone one ripping up someone's flag because it it bothered them.

Where does one draw the line? Come on guys...we are better than that...

Wow. I thought no team in MLS had them anymore. Except Chivas, maybe. Galaxy banned them. I hate them. I thought the Sounders weren;t selling them last night and that just a few ringers brought them in. Damn. And I was sure we scored a WAVE-free game too. Incurred a mnadatory 10-point deduction for pom-pom girls, but . . . .

Stop them before to many folks have wasted $5. They are "fog horns". If you ever had to sit near one, you would know how to spell irritation! My alma mater used to be called the grey fog; I might be able to see a use for them then. That was 1928.
