Yes, Sheva is like Mount Rushmore. Can't leave him out :)

And the funny thing is he is still more likely to score for the UNT than anyone else and that includes Milevsky and Kravets :)

I would forget Sheva. The way I see it, he is just taking up some talented young strikers space. I think Kravetz, Gladkiy, Voronin, Selezniyov, or even Marko Devic are more worthy of playing for the NT now.

Whatever...SHeva's next assignment will be playing second fiddle to a substitute striker in Livorno, or Bologna, so I don't see how he's better then those 3.

    He is done with a lower-case "d".

Re: FSU Players Abroad (Arshavin, Sheva, Pavlyuchenko, etc)

I think he'll stay at Milan. I think he still has another 2 years to find his form and can still play decent for the next 2-4 years. Not saying he will, but its not out of the question. He needs to learn to play without the same acceleration speed he's enjoyed and improve his confidence and the finishing ability goes hand in hand with that. First Serie A game of the season he missed that golden opportunity right in front of goal from that Ronaldinho pass, if he scores it might be a different story.

But you are out of your mind to think Ukraine can go along without Sheva, just dropping him all of a sudden is the last thing that will happen. Do you realize what he means to all these guys on the team??? He's Sheva, a fukin legend, these last two seasons don't change a thing.

I've heard all this talk about Sheva being done, his next job being a ball-b oy for Meliorator Perdichev, etc. And yet, he remarkably still scores better than anyone for UNT and who else would you like scoring for UNT in time of need? Sheva. There is truly nobody else.

As of right now, Sheva is really bad. Now it doesn't have to stay that way, I think its more mental then physical with him. But Ukraine do have players around that can play the striker position. Not to Sheva's level we've all been accustomed to, which to us qualifies as being shit, but we have guys in Voronin and Milevsky that are above average.

Above average won't do it in London. We may need Sheva to sprinkle some of his magic.

The more I think of it, who knows...maybe he does start up top next to Milevsky. The two really haven't played together yet so its hard to imagine this being the game it happens, Milevsky got hurt v. Belarus and missed our next 2 qualifiers. Sucks if Voronin gets jipped again, he deserves it but just hasn't shown enough for the NT to make it an easy decision.

Based on his recent form, Voronin should get the start. But he is in Mykha's dog house for a reason. On the personal level, I see why: he is a primadonna, he lacks work ethic, and he rarely produces for the NT. I mean that if I have a choice between a guy like that and Milevsky or Sheva, the solution comes easy. The only way Voronin gets a start in England is if he solves his personal differences with Mykha. And, to tell you the truth, I am on Mykha's side.

You're saying that he should learn how to play like Filippo Inzaghi or Alessandro Del Piero. Now, can you seriously see Shevchenko doing that? Without his speed Sheva is half the striker he was. His finishing was lethal, but the opportunities to have shots at goal were the result of his being really fast.

He was never Blokhin or Belanov kind of fast, though. Sheva was a complete package, where he did not rely on speed but more on the service from playmakers like Rebrov, which he enjoyed in Kyiv and in his first stint with AC Milan.

Fast like running or being decisive and creating room to shoot?

    Whatever man. Sheva today=failure.

Can i point out that if you play Sheva and Voronin up front you will have the slowest forward line since Jancker and Bierhoff played for Germany.John Terry can be made extremely uncomfortable by pacey strikers , big lumbering ones he'll sweep up all day.

But that's not the problem if Ferdinand is playing. The problem is if Sheva is match fit.

And let me point out that Jancker alone was the reason for Dynamo's demise in the 1998/99 UEFA Champions League Semifinals. Jancker is a different kind of a forward a plodding heavy tank obliterating everything in front of him.

Andrei set up the game tying goal in Arse's 2-1 win over Hull.

I saw the last half hour, he was sick as ever. He put some defender on his ass with only some dribble feints, looked like Chris Paul shaking the shit out of someone. Then he had a sure goal blocked by a defender, then came his unselfish assist, and finally a through pass megged between a defenders legs perfectly into the box for Gibbs to fuk up his 2nd assist :)

    It was but it stood.

AA's assist was on the first goal.

Arshavin's like Messi in a sense, seems like he's going to make makes something happen every time he has the ball.

I gotta say...he's doing pretty well at Arsenal. I thought he was going to pull a Sheva.
