Did we need a new thread? It's been two years and the OP still hasn't picked a team. Heck, he hasn't logged in for a year.

Actually, I like this thread, it's good for a laugh every post or two. ;)

I'd like to add that though I've been a soccer fan for years I only recently decided to choose a PL team to root for. I ultimately chose Hull City for two reasons. I'm American and love the underdog and this is first year Hull has made it into the Prem, so it made sense we both joined at the same time. They truly have heart and from a city that was wasted in WWII that's come back from nothing and a strong blue-collar class town, it was the best storied club I could find. Not to mention you gotta love the colors ;)

Ha ha, yeah well I thought I'd give others the chance to continue to use the thread as a lot of others apart from the OP have come on to ask the same thing. Possibly the longest thread on BS that has stayed with good posting.

I don't know if I quite agree with your standard of "good posting". ;)

Actually, I'd say that right now I'd want to choose a team that can score goals........

Supporting a football club should not just be treated as a fashion accessory

I can tell you like the underdog, I can't remember the last time AC Milan won anything....

Also you only support Hull because they did well at the start of the season, you're just the same as all these people with Hoffenheim under their names.

Apart from Hoffenheim will actually be somewhere in 5 years, and Hull will be back in obscurity. Also many Cities got the shit bombed out of them, you may aswell support Hertha Berlin.. top of the league after being shite for years and years and a history of getting destroyed.

But the team in his username, the Los Angeles Galaxy, have had some success in the past but were tied with expansion San Jose for the fewest points in MLS last season and had by far the most goals allowed.

Good for them but does anybody really care about that joke of a league?

Several thousands of people at least. Sure, that's not as much as the millions of people that follow the Premiership, but why does that make the league a joke? Why should passion for soccer/football be laughed at and not supported? We all love the beautiful game don't we? Don't we all wish it to grow in popularity around the world? MLS is the best live football we can get in the states (some would argue the USL, but that's beside the point), so many of us will continue to support it regardless of whether or not you Europeans think it's a joke.

If England ever gets its own league then we can compare. You could perhaps argue for League Two, but would you want to?

More on butchering the game, what does Bolton get to celebrate?

    -Not getting relegated
-Finishing just short of a UEFA bid (yeah, I know, you've been there twice in thirty years - props)
-The occasional win/draw against the big four
-History and tradition that amount to ZERO significant trophies in the last fifty years

    THAT'S EXCITING

That would require your post to actual contain any wit, irony or sarcasm in the first place for it to be anything close to satire.

What the hell? When did I talk about celebrating anything with Bolton you big turd. Twice in 30 years? That was quite clearly just a blatent guess, it's actually twice in 135 years, or if we're trying to be positive twice in 4 years. I don't think history or tradition has ever amounted to any silverware for any football club in existance.

Football has never just been about having to win a trophy, of course that is the aim but you have to be realistic, you are totally ignorant of what football is about if you think it's a bad season if you don't win a trophy.

You are absolutely right. I had no idea what that word meant.

My bad, dude. Forgot the clause in the forum rules that only allows you to randomly hijack threads and shit all over people.
Really, you should be flattered. Emulation is the highest form!

Also, I did some pseudo-research via our friend Wiki, but I wasn't going to get too heavily invested as harassing forum asshats is merely a hobby.

    CHEERS!

Not to get too far off topic:

You should support the team with the colors you like the most OR the coolest crest, because no rational reason will be good enough for the angsty eunuchs from across the pond that so diligently attempt to guard the game from ..everyone?
