We currently have Angela Hucles, Heather Mitts, and Amy Rodriguez with the USWNT at the Algarve Cup, Kelly Smith and Alex Scott with England, and Candace Chapman with Canada at the Cyprus Cup. In the US's first game against Denmark, Hucles played the full 90, Mitts played the first half, and Rodriguez came in as a second-half sub. In their second game against Iceland, Mitts, Hucles, and Rodriguez all started, with Mitts earning the full 90. England opened the Cyprus cup defeating South Africa 6-0 - Scott played 90 and got an assist, Smith played the first half and tallied the team's third goal. They then tied France 2-2, and it looks like Smith started while Scott came on as a second half sub. Chapman appears to have played the full 90 in Canada's opening game against New Zealand, but did not play in their win over the Netherlands.
Hucles, Mitts, and Rodriguez all started for the US today in their 1-0 victory over Norway, with Rodriguez assisting Rapinoe's goal.
So it's Sweden in the final... I was hoping for another crack at the Germans but I guess that'll have to wait!! 11 Questions with Heather Mitts http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_13172736.html
That doesn't seem to be correct. If you check the game report you linked to, it says that Chapman was "unavailable" and you can see she isn't in the photo of the starting lineup.
Right - I was looking at the "game events" at the bottom, which lists her as a a starter, but you're right, she's not in the picture. That means she was unavailable for both games. I hope she's not hurt, does anyone know?
Isn't a little bit odd for her to be scratched for all 3 games, given the close scheduling of the games. She didn't play today either. Looks like Smith played for England but Smith was a scratch. England and Canada are facing off in the final. It would be nice to see the Breaker players go head to head before joining up with the team.
The Cypress Cup is now concluded with England winning their first international tournament in 25 years 3-1. Kelly Smith scored the game winner. http://www.thefa.com/Womens/England.../Postings/2009/03/CyprusCup_Canada_report.htm
