He may not. If the decision has been made not to buy him they will not want him injured and incur the liability.
Same question. I am an attorney and that strikes me as impossible. If there were any such possibility, I doubt you'd ever see a loan.
it's always funny when lawyers make conclusions about anything other than the law if toni's not playing, LD has a chance for minutes...JK is not enamored of Podolski who a) sulked and got sold, b) was injured and, c) cuked it up in his 1 game back
He's not starting, according to ESPN Soccernet. Bayern Munich (G) Michael Rensing 1 (CD-L) Martin Gaston Demichelis 6 (CD-R) Ferreira Lucio 3 (LB) Jose da Silva Junior Ze Roberto 15 (RB) Massimo Oddo 23 (CM-L) Tim Borowski 24 (CM-R) Mark Van Bommel 17 (LM) Franck Ribéry 7 (RM) Bastian Schweinsteiger 31 (CF-L) Miroslav Klose 18 (CF-R) Hamit Altintop 8 It doesn't list the subs yet. Edit: he did make the subs bench Bayern Munich Substitutes No. NAME POS 16 Andreas Ottl (SUB) 33 Breno (SUB) 13 Landon Donovan (SUB) 30 Christian Lell (SUB) 11 Lukas Podolski (SUB) 22 Jorg Butt (SUB) 20 José Ernesto Sosa (SUB)
If Donovan could go to a club and get the kind of un-earned support that Altintop has received, he'd have so much more confidence. Altintop has played well before, but could he have at least earned a spot out there? I mean come on, he's arguably been Bayern's worst player over the last month.
if he is injured and cannot play I am guessing that there is a system like in the USA that provides some compensation.
If Bayern were ever intending to keep Landon or at least extend his loan, one would think he would get at least one start during his stay. The sooner he gets back to his actual team, the better off he'll be.
I don't know. I think the competition has been good for him. Re-awakens the senses. Gets the competitive juices going. If anything, I think this has whetted his appetite for more challenges. I'm betting he can't wait until he actually gets sold to some team over there.
God, that miss from Altintop was awful. These commentators seem to combine all the most tendencies of anglophone and Latino announcers.
I just wonder if there is a Turks Abroad forum in a parallel universe debating Altintop's worth and lamenting his finishing...
Altintop doesn't convert break-away. Good play by GK and could have been better by Hamit. However, I dont agree that Altintop has not "earned" playing time. He has just started getting significant minutes after being off for quite awhile with injury so he is still playing himself back into form. He is a tough, skilled and versatile player.
Bayern's worst players so far this year, in my opinion, are Demichelis and Schweinsteiger. Altintop seems to be in a similar position to Donovan right now, trying to find a rhythm with limited time (before today).
Was that Lucio who cleared from the box by volleying with the outside of the foot by the heel? Strong clearance from a difficult body positon. Boca could learn from that one - he didn't do so well with same type of clearance against Mexico.
