I always hear ppl say that they have wide feet, I always thought I have wide feet until I saw this person's review on soccer.com:
"these uppers seemed pretty tight on my feet at first because i have feet 4 1/2 inches across, but after one game they fit a little looser. the yellow stripes are actually a lot greener. "

I understand that I duno the length of his foot so it left me wondering whats the "normal" ratio for a foot? Length vs Width.

My feets are 10.5 inches long, and 4 inches wide.
we can set up a equation so the ratio is always assuming everyone's foot is 10 inches long.
take the width(X) of ur foot, divide that by the length(L), and then multiply that by 10. round to nearest tenth.
    (X/L)x10 is the equation
    (4/10.5)x10=3.81
so the ratio of my foot is 10 : 3.81. Now if anyone's interested, we can compare our foot to each other's. :)
note: I am just measuring the longest part and widest part of my foot.

[edit] just found this handy tool! http://www.shoes.com/shop/mens_sizechart.pdf

let me chip in but I know my measure in cm only

    250 / 10

I too have wide feet. adidas WF size 250 fits my feet fine. I need to get 255 if I want regular version.

do u mean 25cm in length and 10cm in width? lol
Thats basically 10 inches in length and 4 inches in width.
    so the ratio is 10 : 4

Does anybody know how they consider a foot wide? is it a length vs width ratio? or they just look at width(like once your feets are wider than a certain point then they are considered wide.)

When shoe maker build shoes, do width also increase/decrease according to the size? or they just stay relatively the same?

Go to the store and get measured with a Brannock Device. It will indicate the width of your forefoot.

It'd make sense if the measure went by the ratio btwn length and width.

Yes width increase as well as the length as the size increases. I can't speak the exact measure but I think it'd be 1cm length, 0.5cm width.

not so true my friend had his feet length measured and if they wernt so fat he could fit into size 7UK but because they are so wide he has to have like size 10 or 11UK so it dosnt neccessarily work for everyone

triple E and more is a wide foot. Usually soccer boots don't come in a triple E or wider. So people with that kind of width get a half size larger shoe,

That is width measurement here in the USA for a wide foot.

width size D is a norma width soccer boots mostly come in D widths.

Now forget about that if a shoe is too tight in width go to a bigger shoe and see how that fits.

if you have wide feet just get k leather cleats as they stretch to fit your feet
I have like the most messed up feet out of anyone I know, as they're wide below the ankle but sort of taper off towards the toes, but my podiatrist said that normal shoes were fine, so I got legends and they stretched out great

I know your a newbie, but if threads aren't on the first page, just don't look at them. Usually it indicates the thread hasn't been posted in for awhile, and other posters aren't really interested in it. Try looking at the date of the post in the upper left hand corners of posts. If it's from years ago, or even only months ago, don't post in it.
