Yeah of course the players don't go out there with sombreros and eating tacos. But as it has already been stated the fans do, and i consider the fans part of the team in a way, because they are there for support and the national team plays to represent their people. Why else would a true fan feel so emotional when the team wins or loses. it's our country's name and people that are either getting praised or spoken badly of after each game.

I have to agree with suicidal guy here. I don't see how you can equate the NT with patriotism. The FMF is the worst possible example of patriotic representation there is. It is club for me. although, not by much.

If you don't see as patriotic i guess it is because you are not as big a Mexican Soccer fan as the people who bleed and breathe MEXICAN Soccer.

So I have demonstrate my patriotism watching soccer?

    You're fucking kidding me right?

What happened to joining the army?

Soccer does not have anything to dowith patria.... Pay respect to the country in another way other than watching soccer. Now thats patria... Not if you watch soccer or no.

The army? you are kidding right? the ********in army is a joke. are you the type of guy that needs a gun to feel manly or proud?lol
The only reason i would join the army would be if the country was in actual danger and to protect my family. in a case like that yeah it is patriotic, but just joining and being part of the army isn't patriotic. and since there hasn't been any situation like that in many years i don't see how the army is very patriotic. and Mexican soccer is something of pride and honor, pride in the colors the team wears and represents and ultimately the people they represent. so i still say it's patriotic.:D

    Get a reality check dude...

Mexico is in grave danger as is your family.. this whole Drug war going on is no big thing I guess?

Its pretty lame that you feel you have to demostrate your patriotism by watching soccer..

If it was patriotic playing soccer with a green jersey please let those that wore it today know it.. A ver si por una ves los gueyes le ponen huevos.

i know the drug war is a problem, but these kind of problems are present in many countries, and tend not to affect everyone equally. this drug war affects those involved in it more than the average citizens, and yes i know that innocent people fall victims as well, but when i said my country being in danger i meant more of a large scale, like a world war. I am not diminishing the true mexican soldiers or any soldiers for that matter of their patriotism, but the army is also full of so many people who join for different reasons and not on behalf of patriotism. and especially in mexico where the level of corrution is imense.

and just as patriotism does not apply to everyone in the army neither does supporting our national team. i never said that if you didn't watch soccer you weren't patriotic, i said that the hardcore fans feel and are patriotic, because there isn't just one single thing that makes a person patriotic, there are many. if you feel like you joining the army makes you patriotic then it probably is so, just as those who love their country so much and who love the sport equally as much want their national team to succeed and put all their support into helping the team win, in order to hold the country's name up high.

support does make a big difference so us as fans have some say in the outcomes.

and trust me i am very dissapointed in the way Mexico played tonight and the way they've been playing, but that is no reason to question their patriotism, or the fans. i stick with my team 100% through the good and the bad. my bad if i went on a rant but i just wanted to try and get my point across.

I still feel the goosebumps when Mexico is attacking..

The Chivas has been consistency successful, gone through international tournaments in hostile crowds in South America.

Have had success in Super Liga playing at USA.

You could probably modify the Chivas with star mexican players and use that as EL TRI.

I think it is because of the management in Chivas that as made them succesful.

Super Liga isn't a real tournament. Only the spazzos think it's worth anything.

    LOL

    true

they see it as a world class tournament

while the rest of us just see it as a way for the FMF to make more money

if anything, it's good for pre-season warm ups. i still remember the '07 edition when Chivas pretty much brought the entire Tapatio squad and it wasn't until the last game against the Galaxy that Chivas brought in the likes of Ramoncito, Bravo, Venado, Maza. etc who were with the NT in Copa America
