The Husejinovic deal is not yet done, but something can happen today, because Husejinovics advisor (player manager) and the player meet with Allofs.
"Radio Programmes del Peru" claimes that the Peruvian international Junior Ross will become a player of Bremen within "the next hours". Junior Ross is 22 years old, momentarily plays for Coronel Bolognesi in the first Peruvian division and has been active for Peru´s national team 18 times, scoring one goal. He is a striker, but considering to some reports at transfermarkt.de he is a Renato Augusto-type of player, which means that he can also be used as an offensive midfielder. His current market value is estimated at 300.000€.
He is supposed to be quite talented, guess Pizarro had a say in that. Pizarro could make it easier for him to integrate in the coming months also. I don't know the player, so I can't really say anything about his strenghts and weaknesses. But he is very cheap at least, and young, so there is no risk involved. Hopefully, he'll come good.
Want to talk to Klaus Allofs about the current situation at Werder? Just call him on Thursday, 15:00-16:00 local time (CET). http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/503169/
http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/12876/City_target_Diego_arrested_in_Germany.aspx ManCity interested in Diego. I say sell him for anything 35m€+, we´ll have him replaced with Özil or Jensen and will buy Pizarro, maybe two midfiielders and a left back. Remember,we still have about 20m€ left for transfers...
Good news, I actually had expected this somehow, for the reasons explained in the other thread. I would not sell him for anything less than €30m in the summer, but Man City should add a couple of millions to the price. €40m sounds like a good deal, remember they paid HSV €20m for De Jong for God's sake, and he only had a few months left on his contract. Even Real Madrid would pay that, the stingy Italians (especially Juve) won't though. Bundesliga clubs need to demand considerably more for their marquee players than they did in the past. We could learn a thing or two from the French in this respect (Lyon in particular). Want our best players? You better have some deep pockets, and be willing to put money were your mouth is!
Would make no sense whatsoever for us, won't happen. Either they want to buy him, and put some serious cash on the table, or not.
The earlier discussed Peruvian international Junior Ross is on trial at Werder Bremen http://www.werder.de/english/news/m...ian-Junior-Ross-tries-out-with-professionals-
Maybe he played under his 2nd surname. (?) His full name is Douglas Junior Ross Santillana. Anyways, good luck at the trial.
yea i know exactly who he is but don't really remember him at all at our nt tho, maybe has play some friendly games but his definately not a constant on our nt
odd about Ross he usually gets called up to the NT just for friendlies or when our other forwards aren't available in his short career he's been an irregular player, some brilliant games but then not so good ones he's had two chances at big teams(Alianza Lima and Cienciano del Cuzco) and didn't shine in either I always thought he'd end up being a Bolognesi legend (hehe) by playing there for many years, and then Werder shows up... either way he's definitely talented, just needs to step it up and maybe he can make it in Germany
Allofs said in an interview, that Pizarro thinks about staying in Bremen, even without CL next season and the player confirmed "I am interested in staying in Bremen". Pizarros manager Delgado indead is quoted, that it´s to early to talk about negotiations.
Allofs also confirmed that we are interested in Brazilian striker Fred, who can (and definitely will, latest) leave Lyon on a Bosman in the summer. That's why it'll be rather difficult to sign him, since a number of clubs will be interested in signing him for free. I wonder why we don't try to sign him now? We should have the money, and if his wages are the problem (don't think we'll want to afford two strikers on high wages (-> Pizarro), we should be able to handle them for 6 months at least. The question therefore is: who is the better long term choice? Pizarro is a class striker, but he is on the wrong side of 30 already. Fred, who I really rate, is just 25, and after his rather disappointing spell at Layon, he has a lot to prove.
I´d love to have both, Pizarro and Fred would really be a classy lineup up front. Do you have a source for the renewed interest in Fred? I didn´t find one so far..
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/503493/ We won't have two strikers in the squad on high wages, and that's what Pizarro + Fred implies. Yes, it would be great, but it's not very realistic, unless we sell someone for a big fee (Diego).
The original source is Kreiszeitung. Werder is interested since some time in Fred and had him on the list last summer. If there is a chance to get such player for good terms a club like us most try and Werder does. But it´s important, that the construction parts of the team (problem parts) get solved: full backs, some unhappy players, ... And as Hacke already wrote, the club is from the wages at its limit. Some players must be sold before new ones can join.
But striker is a 'problem position' also, kinda that is. We still waste too many chances (including Pizarro), and the other strikers are nowhere near Pizarro's class. Should we lose Pizarro in the summer, we definitely need to invest in a class striker. Compared to a few years ago (Klose & Klasnic, Ailton & Klasnic etc.), we have lost some considerable quality up front, even with Pizarro, and it shows. Quite a few matches we lost could have easily been won with more clinical finishing. But yes, full backs, and getting rid of the dead wood should be top priority.
According to British newspapers Man City offers 26.5 million € for Diego. Laughable, if you see a player joining them for 20 million €, who has not even half of the class of Diego and a buy-out clause. --- Pizarro relativated his statement from yesterday a bit: "Werder is a very nice club, i get much respect and feel happy, but Chelsea decides what happens". Well, at least no Chelsea official talked with Pizarro since the start of the loan, Allofs can (and will) use this "non-interest" in the negotiations.
From anybody but Manch€$ter City, I'd say it's fair. But with their stuffed wallet, I say to demand €35M, use 25 or so of it to steal Arshavin from under Arsenal's nose, then use the rest to seal up Pizzaro. It's a pipe dream, I know.
Sanogo is loaned to Hoffenheim for the rest of the season. Hoffenheim has an opportunity to buy him in this summer. Carlos Alberto eventually leaves Werder to join Vasco da Gama in Brasils second division.
Sanogo is sent on a loan to Hoffenheim for the second half of the season. Hoffenheim also have an option to buy him in the summer. http://www.werder.de/aktuelles/news/meldung.php/14896/Boubacar-Sanogo-wechselt-zu-1899-Hoffenheim I really don't know if this is a good idea. Why a loan? Why not take advantage of the situation Hoffenheim are in (Ibisevic injury), and sell him for a good price? And since we have already sent Huseinovic on a loan to Kaiserslautern, Harnik is still injured, and Pizarro banned for the first few games in league, we really look rather thin in the striker department, unless we finally sign someone in the coming days (really does not look like it). The transfer policy of our club is really starting to piss me off lately, it simply does not seem to make any sense.
Dude, I love reading your messages. I think you're right on 99.99% of the time! In my opinion, this is a great f#ckin' deal for Hoffenheim........
