    Wooohooo! One more year!

Best player I have ever seen play live? Yes. And by quite some distance.

I see Paolo Maldini is back again with his captains armband. So much for retirement.

Gee wiz I know he will always be Maldini but in 2 games I can't recall him playing this poorly.

Maldini 6: He doesn't have the speed of the Cagliari forwards but he defends the only way he knows how with his experice. When Jeda gets by him, he holds him and gets a yellow card

If you are asking a general question, a Captian is mor eof a symbol and team leader and is supposed to run the club on the field by setting examples. Mostly in Italy anyway, he has more freedom to talk to the ref without getting carded as much as other players would.

Maldini 6: better in the 1st half where he is called upon to direct the defense, in the 2bd hafl Milan attacks and he vanishes.

He is holding his own this year. As long as the others give him help in the back, he can play until he is 45....

It seems like when everyone plays well so does Maldini....

    Serie A: le pagelle

    Milan-Catania, terminata 1-0.

Dietro tutto abbastanza tranquillo

Maldini 6 - Has a good scoring chance, but doesn't make the most of it. In the back everything is safe and sound.

Maldini 6.5: For him words of praise are wasted. He keeps getting older but his work rate doesn't seem to stop him.

Guy's just a question as I have been watching Maldini for years and have never been able to figure this out.
Is he right/left footed? He never seems to favour either, dribbles with both, passes etc etc, I think he's the most two footed player I have ever seen.

he played on the right early in his career (like when he was 15) iirc, and can play both sides, but yeah he is ambidextrous for sure, very skilled and calm on both feet

His natural position is left back but he has played central defender for at least 8-10 years.........

I know what positions he played, I just wondered if any one knew which foot he calls his stronger one, because there is no signs of a stronger foot in his game.

im a huge maldini fan and im pretty sure he is right footed but since he has played left back for a majority of his career...he has become so accustomed to using his left foot that he uses both equally. dont quote me on this but im almost positive he is right footed. could be wrong though.

i remember reading somewhere that he is right footed but like we all have said he played left back for most of his career and has now become practically equal with both feet.. this is also one of the many reasons why he is truly the best..

did you guys know , that he started off as a forward , when he was in the youth team
and slowly moved back the field from mid to defense

yeah, i think when he started, he was right-footed
