Great game for Man City...Felipao played decent in the first half, but except for a perfect cross to Robinho that should have been a goal, he really didn't do much of anything (neither did Man City as a team to be fair).

The bad news for Felipao is that Sturridge replaced him and managed a goal and excellent assist in the last 15 minutes - seems to me that if both are healthy, Sturridge starts over Caicedo.

yea that's exactly what I was thinking, but what a wierd game that was, Man city was definitly sleeping on blackburn, robinho and phillips really didn't do much of anything until the last 15 minutes where the whole team pressed and managed to tie in the 94th min.

It'll be interesting to see what the coach decides to do, either way the tranfer season is coming and felipe should be able to get loaned or sold to a decent team where he can start.

    Felipe Caicedo to Fulham?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1126443/Fulham-Manchester-City-striker-Caicedo.html

    http://www.fulhamweb.com/-8284-/Premiership/Football/fulham/transfer/caicedo_felipe.htm

What do Ecuador Football Fans think of the possibilty of having Felipe Caicedo signing for Fulham? In my opinion this would be an excellent signing for the London based outfit, as he is certainly a better striker than Andrew Johnson, and he is way better than the useless Championship standard Bobby Zamora. Caicedo, has all the features of being a big hit in the EPL, this due to his strong physical presence, powerful and skillful play, and great finnishing abilities. The Ecuador International is also only 20 years of age, with still plenty of player development to be seen.

Regarding his time at Manchester City unfortunately Caicedo has been stuck in the dreadful times of Mark Hughes. One thing that I do not like about Mark Hughes is how he is trying his best not to play any of the talent that Sven brought in. Ecuador youngster Caicedo has actually been amazing in training, and has been performing much better than the other strikers, this to the point that he should be a first team regular, but sadly Hughes has been trying his best to hold him back. He also did the same with Mexican player Nery Castillo, who Hughes told after one week as manager that Castillo is not apart of his plans. This is particularily harsh when you consider that Castillo paid a large sum of his own money to allow Shahktar Donetsk to loan him out to City for one whole year, and we all know Castillo is good enough to get many opportunities in the Man City first team. Hughes bizarrely and disgracefully never gave Castillo a chance and instead made sure that the Mexican would not have any appearances not only in the first team, but also not on the bench, or even in the reserves. Hughes practically made Castillo non existent. Its a real shame in my opinion that we never got to see Robinho and Castillo play together, as I am sure that we would have seen some attractive football collectively from the pair. Elano and Fernandes are other victims of Mark Hughes's forget the Sven Era.

In the 7 appearances that Caicedo has made for Manchester City so far this season, the majority of these appearances have seen him pull of excellent performances, that were much better than anything that more regular strikers Jo, Benjani, and Evans, have been capable of. His best performance was undoubtedly during the 5 - 1 win over Hull City, in which he netted two goals, and formed a great partnership with Robinho, who also netted two goals. He could of netted more goals in this match, but after just 50 mins, Hughes decided to replace him for HIS striker Jo, who obviously flopped big time when he came on the pitch. Hopefully though such crap treatment will be over soon, this once he hopefully transfers to Fulham, where he will be there main man.

Yeah, I'll come off and say that I resoundingly agree here. Fulham is a great place for Caicedo to play...actually, any club that can see him start would be fantastic but Fulham is a good team for Caicedo because as you said, they lack a striker with his capabilities...and his age only bode good things for the future....hopefully he can go, he's rotting talent on the bench

I'd love to see him at Fulham. Clint Dempsey also happens to be one of my favorite players.

Yeah, the rumor came out this morning. It would be fantastic not only for him but also for the national team. I don't care where he goes but he needs to stay in the Prem and he needs to be a starter. Therefore he needs to move anywhere, but a top team. And Fulham would be a great move because they are a good midtable team. We would most likely see him as an undisputed starter and develop to a real top player (like Antonio Valencia).

    Re: Felipe Caicedo to Fulham?

Great post! And interesting insight about the Mark Hughes situation.

For Ecuadorian fans, the jury is still out on Caicedo, as he has been inconsistent both for club and country. However, as mentioned, he has all the tools to be a superstar - size, power, skill, although he needs to improve his work rate a bit.

At 20 years old, he needs a coach willing to polish him and this can pay off greatly. Fulham seems like a club that has been managed wisely albeit with little resources. This may be a smart move for all involved.

you guys know what would be even better, now that heskey went to aston villa, imagine bruce gets caicedo. He would be playing with valencia, and bruce is an amazing coach. mostlikly this wont happen but i hope he leaves man city , i hate that club now , they think money is everything , and want to buy all these players wit such ridiculous bids. i hope caicedo leaves ASAP.

Things are sure changing in the attacking line for Wigan. Heskey has departed the club to play under his old boss Martin O'Neill at Aston Villa, and Wigan have welcomed (or are close to welcoming) Egyptian Striker Mido, and Columbian Striker Rodallega, to the Club. It will be interesting to see who the gets the nod between Mido and Rodallega to partner Zaki upfront. Also due to the arrival of both Mido and Rodallega, expect out of favour Senegal Striker Camara to depart the Club.

This year their has been a bit of a change regarding the EPL January Transfer Deadline, in which there has been a small extension added, and it will close on February the 2nd, at the time of 5pm in the UK.

Hugo Rodallega is not crappy but he's no Christian Benitez. I've seen Roda play and he must be stronger than he looks because he's not going to make it if he's skinny and weak. Christian benitez is just a more complete forward, he fast and Extremely strong.. F.v.ck, they broke his leg for crying out loud.

they broke his leg in practice and somehow this makes him strong?

anyways, both rodallega and Christian Benitez have the same scoring rate in the mexican league (the coveted 50%)

I still think Benitez is overrated. First of all the mexican league is not that good and I don't remember how much did santos asked for him? It was more than 10 mill I think? They must be nuts!!! he'll stay there forever!
