Haha like we'd ever be stupid enough to loan him out to them.

    More proof of Reals arrogance.

with such a ridiculuous deal, Valencia should spit at the offer and stay at Wigan where he shines week in and week out....

Real shouldn't doubt Valencia enough to only offer him a loan. It sounds like they only see Valencia as a temporary midfielder until they have enough cash for C Ronaldo. what a shame. I admit, it would still be cool to have an Ecuadorian wearing a Real Madrid jersey, but a loan is kind of inconsiderate towards Wigan. Well if not Real, then maybe Liverpool, of Man U LOL:D. But seriously, I hope Valencia factors in the fact that he doesn't have to battle for a spot at Wigan. If he were to go to Real Madrid, its a different team, a much better team, and a completely different league to adjust to.

Something about this "loan" rumor seems strange to me. Loans are almost exclusively for players that are either not starters or not needed, or if the potential upside is so huge that the team is willing to let the player go because they have much more to gain than to lose (example Castillo's loan to Everton).

The risk of Wigan loaning Valencia to Madrid are enormous - they would almost certainly drop places in the PL by losing a key player, killing their chances of European play. Worst case, they could drop back into relegation zone. Then if Madrid do not exercise their option, which seems the likely case because they are looking to free up cash to buy C. Ronaldo, they get nothing except the loan $ (prob 1-2 million max), and Valencia could possibly have gotten injured or dropped in form.

This is a laughable deal, I wonder if the press is being duped here.

i dint want valencia to leave wigan but after watchin todays game vs tottenham, its was rediculous it seemed like valencia was the only one who was trying to get the ball. Wigan needs to get more players to help valencia , they do have some good players but they new 2 or 3 new singning. I wouldnt want valencia to go on a loan to Real , that woould be the stupidest mistake , he should stay in the premier league and go to a top 6 team , not Man u or chelsea cause he would be fighting for a spot in the starting 11. Valencia is an amazing player, good shot , really strong, good moves and he fast!

Real Madrid To Offer Wigan Saviola Plus Cash For Valencia

man if this is true.. wow

i haven't followed saviola at all so i don't know how well he's doing at the moment, but the thought that valencia can be worth more than the famed saviola is incredible.

News reports keep confirming this story, apparently Juande Ramos is insisting on getting Valencia. It's a tough deal though - Wigan sacrifices a lot if they let him go, and gives up on any remote chance of making Europe next season.

The'll have to cough up cash if they want him. They can offer Saviola too us all they want. How are we meant to pay his wages ?

Stick with us LAV. We're a bigger club than Madrid anyway/.

    Updates:

Good news: Seems like Real Madrid have backed off the chase for Valencia.
Bad news: Wilson Palacios is likely to get sold to either Tottenham Hotspur or Manchester City.
Good news: Manchester United may buy Valencia. With a Cristiano Ronaldo departure and a disappointing Nani, Valencia would have a chance of actually playing and not being relegated to the bench. Either way I'll be glad that he stays in England.

That is good news, he needs to stay in England. It's the perfect scenario for a player like him.

apparently now Chelsea and ManU are back in the attack for him....Joe Cole is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury so it looks like Valencia is seen as a perfect fit for his spot, which he is, but I'd still rather him stay at Wigan....

he's in Ecuador enjoying some vacation time....arrived this morning I think?

Maybe this vacation time will allow him to get his agent to also straighten things up with transfer talks, negotiations, etc...I would reallyl like him to stay at Wigan till the end of the season because they're pushing for a UEFA cup spot and all this playing time is only doing his game better, his maturity and sight on the pitch is amazing, he'll just keep developing regardless of where he goes but soon he'll hit a plateu with Wigan and he'll have to go to a bigger club to take him to the next level...lets just wait till the end of the season. I'm hoping for a Chelsea switch...

    He's in Ecuador now ?

Our players were given from last Saturday until today off, and as far as i am aware, they were all due back in training today.

There havent been any roumours recently - well apart from the laughable one in a newspaper that said we would sell him to Chelsea "for the right price" then went on the say that the right price would be £7m. £7m........:D

    I think they missed a "1" before the "7"

So the Real Madrid bid is off due to the whole fiasco going on with their institution. So now we got the giants of England battling for him ... Nice.
