I was at the Boro v Everton game today and they started chanting the ' follow song' which is the first time i have heard it in England. I turned to my buddy and said they got that song from the columbus crew a team in the MLS american soccer league. He laughed when i told him i followed the MLS and he said i need to get out more. Good job i didnt tell him i crossed the pond 6 times last season to see the Galaxy play, he probably would have questioned my sanity.
The Massive just proves itself so over and over again. Also keep spreading the MLS love, nothin' wrong with watching one of the worlds fastest growing leagues.
I wouldn't say that they copied that song from us. We are not the only SG to do it, and it's been around longer than we've been using it. But if you insist, we'll take the credit!
Your welcome Everton. Actually TFC invented the song, everyone knows that including St. Pauli and Celtic.
I bet when Friedel comes back across the pond the Crew will have a good shot at signing him if he decides to continue playing. He has a youth development program west of Cleveland.
Timmy Howard is the American keeper for Everton. Brad is at Aston Villa, but he would be welcomed back gladly if he shuld decide to play his last season or two as a pro back here in C'bus.
Friedel has a youth development program west of Cleveland?!?!? How could we have missed that one? Are you sure?
Yep the follow song has crossed the pond, a section of the 7000 visiting Barrow fans were trying it yesterday, got to be honest they didnt pull it off like you guys in the nordecke do.
That is incredibly insulting...to the SFGMC. The colors are the same though, so I'll just asume it was an honest mistake.
At a quick glance a lot of these men appear to be wearing footy scarves and I believe I saw Celtic, Man U and even the Massive represented by the colors on them.
Figures that those Everton bastards would do that- when Arsenal takes their UEFA Cup spot, they won't love them as much as they do.
I watched the Sydney/Wellington game from this Sunday morning. If you didn't look at the screen it sound like you were in Crew Stadium. Every song I heard was one that we do.
Is that really surprising though? What percentage of songs/chants really are original and not copied from some place else? I think the "We hate Chicago, we hate the Red Bulls too" song might be a member of a rare breed, in the fact that it's a Crew fan original creation and may not have been picked up by any other group.
