The good news, we're getting off at 3:00. The bad news, we're dead and I'm bored out of my skull. The good news, my buddy Gary gave me a 1/5th of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. The bad news, no ice cubes. The good news, 7-11 is down the street. The bad news, I'll be posting again here on Friday. Any other poor no life stuck at work bastidges out there? Happy Holidays Barra Brava!
I'm workin today and Friday, I always work those days cos noone's usually here so it's like taking a vacation I'd work tomorrow if they payed overtime
Oh well, at least we have a mega feast going on here. Everybody's bringing in some tasty food. Now we're trying to talk the boss into leaving so we can crank up the iTunes and break out the suds.
Sittin in my cubicle, the office is pretty dead today. Someone brought in breakfast food this morning. We got an early dismissal for 1PM if we want to make up the time or take PTO we can. (Sucks working as a contractor for the gov't!) Fortunately Bushie gave us Friday off so I'll be all cozy in bed Friday! Yay for 4 day weekend! Happy Holidays Barra!
I'm stuck here at citimortgage til 6 tonight and then i'm back in again friday. But look at it this way, at least we all still have jobs
I'm an airline pilot and have to work all day tomorrow Maybe I'll bring my parachute and cut out early
just got home from work...thought I was looking at a 4 day weekend...and then the boss caught me on the way out the door. and now I have to work friday...d'oh!
It's a Festivus miracle that my company gave us both the day after Christmas and inauguration day off. I'm at a govie site so it's not like anyone would be there anyway. Woot!!!
I'm out of work--don't have job. However.......The work around the house is killing me. The "honey-do" list keeps growing as I get things done. I got a major project in the basement done last night at midnight. Back down there on Friday. Might as well have a regular job. Work less hours.
So I take it you finished replacing the bamboo flooring in the movie theater room that was damaged from the flooding? I love your basement, Pops! Make that son of yours help out!
well what can i said money is not everything so i took a week off with out pay and came to fla to spend time with my mom. so sorry for the ones who have to work
I finally got the insurance company to agree on the price for the lost bamboo flooring. We decided to expand the home theater. The week end of Dec 13, I took out a wall to the space behind the original theater, and built a frame to elevate that section. Unfortunately, the lumber was wet from the recent rains so I couldn't lay the plywood subflooring. On Monday, Dec 15 the flooring sub came in and spent three days patching and then floating the concrete level where the old bamboo floor had been. (When Alex and I took it up the damged floor, pieces of the concrete came up.) Thursday, the 18th, they laid the new bamboo. That night, I worked until 2 AM Friday screwing down the plywood on the elevated frame. Friday, they laid the carpet. Saturday and Sunday, I reinstalled the walls and base at new elevations. I then worked on the new bulkhead and redoing the ceiling at the old wall line, finishing the 24th. Brian and I moved all the furniture, television, and equipment this afternoon, the 25th. We now have an 18 by 25 home theater with an elevated section. We sure have enjoyed watching movies there this Christmas. I still ache all over. Now to get the projector and big screen. Next project: new kitchen cook island BTW, Shannon: This bamboo floor looks much better than the other. Pops
Work is a four-letter word I avoid as much as possible. I may be working tomorrow, I'm really not sure, but I am working a double on Saturday.

Well holy crap! Good job, Pops! I can't wait to finally get over there and enjoy your hard work aka laying in one of the leather chairs watching a movie! Glad everything finally came together!
Well, here I sit The good news, no traffic coming in. The bad news, this place is a morgue and the hot new cashier is off today so we can't even stare at them...er I mean her.
