I guess you are right... But even so Pato's goal ratio is better than most young strikers out there. Bojan , Agüero, Babel (well he is not being used frequently as a striker so maybe we shouldn't include him on this comparison) , Lavezzi, Benzema...

I know we should be careful with young players but I can't help it but feel very confident about his future.

Where can I find the goal/minute ratio for the best strikers in Serie A?

PATO RECORD: at 19 no one has ever scored as much in Serie A
    23.12.2008

He was presented as a new phenomenon, Alexandre Pato 19 years old, has not disappointed. His first year in Italy has an overall positive feeling to it. Accoring to la Gazzetta dello Sport, in the last 60 years no one has scored as much as him at 19 years old. A new record for il papero rossonero that from January 2008 to December 2008 has scored 15 goals in Serie A and 2 in Coppa Uefa. This number is even more surprising when we think back to Pato missing many games last season due to injury and that this year he has played less respect to Kaka e Ronaldinho. These are numbers of a Milan player, where it is not easy to play as a 19-year-old with all the surrounding pressures and in a league as diffucult as the Serie A.

i think also people have to remember, a) how young he is, b) that he has had some injuries that kept him from a regular playing period, c) milan hasn't been playing near its best while he has been here, and d) italy is probably the toughest league to play in as a youngster due to its complex tactical nature

once you remember that and evaluate his 1 year here at milan, there is a lot to be excited about, but just need to have patience. he has all the tools, but to be a master craftsman, it is not enough to just have an excellent toolbox but know how to fully utilize and more importantly when to utilize your vast array of tools at his disposal...pato is coming along in this respect at a pace much faster than most people, and as long as you don't get too carried away with comparisons to a 20-year old ronaldo and keep expectations somewhat realistic, the future looks bright.

lol :D Come on the analogy was quite good.

EDIT: I found a great video that shows most of his best plays on his first year at Milan. His assists are missing, and I would've liked to see that series of dribbles against arsenal , but even so this must be one of the best videos of him:

get your mind out of the gutter :D

yeah, nice vid. he scores some audacious goals, now just convert the easier chances at a higher rate and be more efficient and productivity will increase nicely
yep, not bad at all especially considering he doesn't take pens, and milan has not been the most offensive team since he's been here.

if you would have told me pato would have score 15 goals (all from open play) and 4 assists in his first season, i would have taken it in a heartbeat tbh. pretty darn good indeed.

I was referring to wikipedia's stats... You know , the goal / appearance ratio. Only Zarate and Messi beats him on that , including only the younger strikers of course ^^

I agree that goals per minute is much more accurate, but I didn't have such information when I made that post. Now I do, because of you , so thanks ;)

Rossi seems to be very good. I have to confess that I didn't see much of him but those stats are awesome.

11 goals and 3 assists (no pens) in half a season...and now that he has hit his stride, wouldn't be shocked to see 23-25 goals and 7-8 assists in all competitions this year if he stays healthy. not bad for a 19 year-old...
