    What do you think?

I think a draw is most likely. Bob might be cautious and see how Sven gameplans against the USA.

I'm not overly optimistic about this one. Hell, I'm not optimistic at all.

a Loss would be VERY bad. Don't we goto the Saprissa right after this match? We do just as bad there as we do at the Azteca.

That said, I think we have the better set of players right now. Mexico are too young at certain positions, and out of form at others.

Combine that with the weather, and a legit home field advantage with the crowd, and I think we come away with a rather easy win

    Win (2-0 :D )

I think a lot of people (those who are worried) are letting that 2-2 draw this past February affect their thinking...I don't expect this time around that we'll be using the same outside backs (Ramiro Corrales & Drew Moor) who gifted Mexico their two goals...

Nice to see the "We'll be lucky to get out of Guatemala with a point" crowd make an appearance again, I admire your courage.

Clear Victory. Jozy and Adu put in the goals that Ching and Beasley missed at the GC.

We go to El Salvador and get T&T at home, not a bad schedule.

You could only be referring to me, but you should do a little bit of research before placing me into that category.

I don't see much of a difference between the two teams and Crew Stadium is not the fortress it's made out to be.

I was there in 2005 and it was a 70-30 crowd that didn't appear to intimidate Mexico at all. At times, the 30 percent was louder than the 70, and was cheering like mad for Mexico.

The game itself was a defensive battle in which we converted a couple of our limited chances and they did not.

Donovan after being with Bayern for a while, Bocanegra with Rennes playing well, Timmy in top form, Altidore with Villareal, Onyewu dominating with Standard or someone else, and Dempsey hopefully continuing his hot streak, I think the US will be better than ever heading into this game. Add in that the prodigy should/could get the start, especially since Ching will have been out of game action for quite some time other than the Sweden game, Altidore should get the nod.

Dempsey, Donovan, and Altidore all out there and playing well, the US should continue to have its mental edge over El Tri and win by two goals.

Going with a win as well, and it might as well be 2-nil.

The recent European experiences of Donovan and Altidore -- even if they aren't getting any games with Bayern Munich and Villarreal, respectively -- will definitely count for something. And we all know how much Donovan lifts his game for Mexico, especially when there's something on the line in a WCQ.

And empty bucket or not, Bob Bradley will get the lineup and the tactics right.

Two-nil, with Donovan and Cooper scoring the goals.

Would I be suprised if the US wins? No. I just think Mexico might suprise the US in this game by changing tactics against the US.

This is a must win game. I will be disappointed with anything but.

Frankly, the way Mexico have been playing, I will be disappointed with anything less than our traditional 2-0.

My biggest worry is Bob going with Ching over Altidore and our situation at CM. Mike needs to pick it up big-time, and/or Edu needs to find some playing time or we're looking at Mastro/Clark.

    MUST WIN GAME!!!!

There are 4 quality teams in this hex, so every home game is a must win.

Must win game I think not. T & T, El Salvador, home and away, and home matches vs. Honduras and Costa Rica are must win games. The US beating Mexico home and away is just icing on the cake.
    2-0 us

I'm pessimistic about this one and predict a loss. Mexico's midfield will tapdance around our Energizer Bunny central midfield of Bradley and Kljestan. The hard-charging duo will end up looking like the Headless Chicken and will commit several cardable fouls.

After this match the BigSoccer faithful will look back with fond nostalgia and greater appreciation at our past central midfield pairings when facing Mexico at home in WC qualifiers: Reyna and Armas in 2005, Reyna (with a first half substitution of Clint Mathis) and Armas in 2001, Sorber and Dooley in 1997.

Are you serious? This one will be a 3-0 walkover.

Mastro can't play due to yellow card accumulation.

The US will win this one. We'll be well prepared, confident but not over-confident. Donovan, Beasley, Onyewu and Howard will see to it.

    2-0.

    We'll win. Probably 2-1, 2-0.

Unless we start Jose and Kenny (which we won't) with LD slotting in behind them. If we did that we'll win 3-1. That combination against Mexico would be deadly.

I'll hopefully get some tickets to this game so I'm going to say 2-0/2-1, USA on top either way. Mexico doesn't play well in cold weather and they've been very inconsistent as of late.

One thing is for sure- we MUST turn Crew Stadium into LA BOMBANERA.

Rockets, bangers, the full Monty boys and girls.

being pessimistic about usa chances are all feeling states right now..

there's no evidence mexico can go on the road and win right now...

add in, usa style does well versus a finesse team..

as to must win...4 teams get you minimally to playoff versus comnebol..

and costa rica isn't the best of tico sides right now...

The Mexicans have said they are going to acclimatize their players to the cold. However, that is easier said than done...of course many of our players can't stand the cold, either....
Anyway, the matchup of Sven "It' Ericksson and RoboBob should be priceless :p
Prediction: 2-0 USA [I have to believe we can do this at Columbus, in February ]

I'm not sure I want to see the male portion of Sam's Army naked. I suspect our players feel the same way

I'm going to go with a win, 2-1. I think this one will be similar to the Gold Cup Final when Mexico went up a goal but we'll even it up with a set-piece/Penalty then get the go-ahead around the 70th minute.

I do agree with many posters that this is a must-win. If we don't get 3 points out of this, do you really think we're going to walk in to Azteca and steal 3 from them? I just don't see that happening. Can't wait to get to Columbus!!

If the temperature is as expected, I think you can safely say that even if we did get Full Monty, they would be too small to see.

I'm going to go with a win as well. But I just can't predict 2-0 again. I just have a hard time believing that it would happen a third time. I have to think that Mexico has to start understanding that we're for real and planning for it. The players that are on Mexico now aren't the ones they had 8 years ago who grew up with the US being meaningless. Mexico also has a lot more players playing in Europe and used to the cold.

Despite that, I think we'll once again get some Guerra Fria magic.
