Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin The Chronicle is reporting that the Dynamo are trying to lure away Luis Angel Landin, a young Mexican, from Morelia. Dom confirmed the rumor last night on Glenn Davis' show. That particular bit can be heard here. I believe this would be a first for MLS, should the Dynamo succeed in luring him to Houston: signing a young, rising star Mexican. If not it'd at least be one of the few times it has happened. Since everyone is clamoring for news, thought I'd give you this. Have at it.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin I thought we were going for Luis Angel, but we're actually going after a guy whose name sounds like buttsecks?
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin God I hope you guys sign him, otherwise he would go to my Chivas. Landin sucks monkey balls. He use to be a rising star untill he started to believe he was god's gift to soccer.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin Im sure Dom's yelling and screaming will humble him a lot better than any of the respectful* coaches in Mexico. *respectful= 2 scared to piss off a "superstar"
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin No kidding. The way Dom would rip into Caraccio during practice used to hurt my feelings! But I love 'im for it.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin An Official at Club Morelia has already dimissed the rumors about Landing leaving the Club. And speaking of Morelia, if I were Dominick Kinnear, I'd go for that Peruvian, Andres Mendoza.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin Loved it when he coached my Tigres. OBVIOUSLY isn't included in the "RESPECTFUL coaches in Mexico" list. That being said, Ferretti cuddles with his players compared to the ass-thrashing they receive from Dom.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin I agree. Landin was promise turn into failure. Also, Andres Mendoza might bring more fans than Landin.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin Landi's 23, he had a bad year. I'm not saying he's going to bounce back, but it's a bt too early to write him off just yet. Although I would rather have Mendoza right now.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin Ever heard of Lavolpe. That guys is famous for tearing his players new one.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin Even the mexicans would rather see Mendoza than Landin. MLS should focus more name, stats and current skill level than just nationality.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin MLS? I know the contracts are owned by the league, but the league isn't making anything out of tha nationality of particular players as far as I know. On that note, if you know anything about Dominic Kinnear's record you'd know that nationality means jack shit to him too. He past up on Blanco, and was quick to give Caraccio the boot when he didn't perform, not one to pander to a demographic. He's been wanting Landin since 2007. Now Dallas and Chicago are another story, though it seems to have worked out for Chi for the most part, save Frankowski.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin That why put "stats and current skill level". Theres players are good for a year or two ( like Santino Quaranta and Eddie Johnson ) then fade because injuries, lack focus and ego etc... Landin sucks and not a big enough name. Now if Landin came to Houston as non-DP ....Great move!!!
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin This, is the reason why they're even looking into it. You didn't think Dom would go out and get a DP, did you?
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin Kinnear gets without a DP deal, then Kinnear could re-create him and give a secound chance before he wash-up.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin http://blogs.chron.com/soccer/archives/2008/12/dynamo_make_off.html The Dynamo have made an offer, it will be a loan where the Dynamo pay his salary + some money to Morelia.
I know there's a thread here somewhere that talks about the possibility of Landin coming to Houston but I can't find it for the life of me. Maybe this deserves to be merged with that thread but in any case. Dynamo Make Offer for Landin The highlights. Transfer ruled out after Morelia asked for 7 figure transfer fee Player would come on loan for "nominal fee" Salary "wouldn't come close" to commanding DP salary The last bit is probably the nicest to hear as a Dynamo fan. Rest of the blog goes on to state why it could actually happen as Chivas doesn't appear to have interest after making other off-season moves.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin And to confirm the obvious, the article states that Landin "wouldn't come close" to commanding a DP salary.
Landin is a tall, fairly athletic, target type forward with a decent pace ... but he's not a very good finisher.
Re: Dynamo Trying to Sign Luis Anel Landin How about Dynamo try to sign Felix Garcia? could be as rising star as well, + is American.
