Luis Chiriboga, the president of the Ecuadorian Football Association (FEF), announced that the national team will participate in a friendly tournament with Oman, Egypt and Iran between the 12th and 14th of December.

"We have taken advantage of the end of the Ecuadorian Championship on the 7th of December, to accept to participate in a friendly tournament with Oman, Egypt and Iran, which will serve us as preparation for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers," said Chiriboga.

It was also confirmed that players from Copa Libertadores champions Liga Deportiva Universitaria will not take part in the competition. In December the club will take part in the Club World Cup in Japan.

I kinda like this, about time Chiriboga enrolls us in this type of tournaments, I mean this could mean at least 10 days of our NT playing and practicing together although I won't hold my breath for our "usual" starters to show up for this (Mendez, Valencia, Benitez, Espinoza and Ivan) but I see it a perfect opportunity to see Noboa make a debut in The Vizuete era, Aragon, Caicedo(Its not like his club needs him lol) Castillo(same here), Nazareno, Issac Mina, Pedro Quinones, Fernando Hidalgo, Castro, Cortez, Guagua, Quiroz, Mike Rodrigues, Joao Rojas even Miguel Bravo should participate, Narciso Mina, all these guys should be called up, why not Montero since he is getting some playing time in Mexico, Heck, maybe even Kaviedes should be invited, Orlindo Ayovi.

I think it's great that Vizuete is experimenting. In fact, I think he should've not chosen Ivan Hurtado. He's still good, but we need to stop depending on him so heavily.
