Squid I bet if he gets at least 45 minutes against England you will change your tune. Marin is the most creative player in the senior squad. If he had Klose/Gomez/Helmes to pass the ball to at Moenchengladbach he would be top of the assist table. Marin is the key piece that Germany was missing at Euro 2008. We need a player that can bring something special to unlock a defense when our normal schemes and combinations are not effecting a break-through.

Anyways we can have this debate in the Germany forum. I brought him up in this thread because I wanted to point out who the English fans should be watching for on our team. It will be interesting to hear their perspectives on some of our new talent.

^Its nowhere near as sweet as the Kroos-aide that Squid has been addicted to since last season.

:) I just want to let the english posters know that - unlike what you said before - he is not the most technical and/or best dribbler who is german since the late 80s - andy moeller, thomas haessler, mehmet scholl, sebastian deisler, uwe bein, littbarski, mario basler - are all at least on a par. You know, just to keep things in context. And also he is unproven at the top unlike that list. You were going off about him like he was something never seen before ;)

I expect a full German squad, we need to win this match and to judge to see who players are fit to fill the roster for the 2010 World Cup Campaign, Chelsea said they didnt want Ballack to Captain Germany, but I think he should, I like to see Germany score some goals and hopefully it will be a good game.

Blah, blah. blah...Owen Hargreaves is done for the season, not just this match...get used to the fact that neither Manu nor England can say he is a regular nowadays.

That would be like Germany claiming the team was incomplete everytime Deisler was out.

Injuries, injuries and then a move to Bayern, and a battle with depression and more injuries. He retired from football all together at 27 right before the 2006 WC stating he had no confidence left in his knee.

It was a waste since he spent more time injured than weel, but when he was well - he was an amazing player; passses were always right on ther money.

good guess, but trochowski is a regular at left mid now so no more of podolski there. He's more likely to start than gomez at striker. But I think patrick helmes will beat them both to it - league leading scorer.
