Apparently they will still hold these games even without Dynamo participation. Who knew? Thursday, November 13 Columbus Crew v. Chicago Fire 6:30 p.m. ESPN2 Saturday, November 15 Real Salt Lake v. New York Red Bulls 8:30 p.m. FSC,HDNet IF the same criteria hold for CCL entry next year, a Columbus win would put the Dynamo back in the tournament. I wouldn't toss around words like "guaranteed" or "locked up", though, until it is confirmed.
I'll be pulling for a RSL v Columbus final.....and if a Columbus Cup winner helps us I'm all for it. I want RSL to win the Westren conference. Plus I was close to jumping the wall and beating the crap out that Red Bull play with the grey hair doing a zombie dance after the 3rd goal. I could not bear to watch that again.
Since I don't have a dog in this hunt, I'm going with the only Western Conference team left.... C'mon Salt Lake !!!! Fire beats the Crew first though. but may the best team win.
As I said in the postgame, I'll be damned if the Cows represent the Western Conference in the MLS Cup.
i didn't think it was going to happen, so i didn't get my hopes up of Dynamo 2009-2010 Champions League berth. did you see the last graphic. last 7 games against Chicago at home, columbus is 0-4-3.
Technically, all they need is a draw...and then win the penalty kicks. Columbus are pushing hard now. Entertaining game.
This game is depressing. It's a replay of the Houston-NY game except Columbus got their goal in the second half after dominating play and Houston didn't.
Ditto. I knew this game was going to be make me sad, but I still watched it. I wish it had been us celebrating.
come on man-you know that was the game No really-I meant ices "the shot" CCL next year-it's all good, no cup but we're still playing in Champions League
If Columbus wins the MLS Cup, I wonder who will be the other automatic bid to the CCL group stage? The Open Cup winner, and the MLS Cup runner up get the play-in bids. Would one of them get bumped up, or would the Dynamo get it?
