Wow.. Took the words right out of my mouth.. He's a type of foward who waits for everything to be done for him.. He should have came off in the 50th minute, I would liked to see more of the teenagers than a short weak slow guy with no aggresiveness what-so-ever.. Even the #9 (forgot his name) was closer to scoring in the short amount of time he played, while palacios shot once at goal the whole game, from just outside the 18 that was no stronger than a pass.. Quiñonez was really out there, he put in nice lob passes, specaily that one that #9 killed well, but then blasted it to the keeper.. NOW BANGUERA, he looks like another cevallos in terms of how much time he wastes, but the kid isn't afraid to leave his line, although on the first goal he did it the wrong way, hopefully he'll learn.. Enrique gamez showed absolutely nothing.... hopefuly we stop playing that bunker ball crap.. In friendlies for gods sake.. Its the same thing that happened against venezuela.. We score early and sit back.. - PS- anybody else found it wierd how the amount of added time wasn't announced at all, and they just finished the game after mexico's goal?

In my opinion, today was just another example on how Bolanos is the most overrated player in Ecuafutbol right now, I mean he had a few open looks today but as usual makes the wrong decision, not a good center pass came from him, kept on falling, took too long to get rid of the ball and when he did the pass was off.
I'm really happy with Mina's performance though, he just keeps on getting better, Walter Ayovi was solid as usual, Saritama I give him credit that he ran all game long, but he was meant to play as our "enganche" but he spend most of the time passing the ball back. but worst of all was Checa, seriously Vizuete needs to do more homework there are better defenders than him, Campos, Matamba, Aguiire, Achillier, Fleitas, just to name a few.

I was at the game. I thought Ecuador did well but as has already been stated they subbed liberally. I had a great time. The Ecuador fans (about 50 or so in my section were great).

Very cool, man...I was going to rep you on the Mex boards but I am out for 24 hours. Ecuador actually lost it in the 2nd half until the last 15 minutes until Vizuete decided to use all 6 of his subs in the last 3 minutes!

Fair win for Mexico, after it was 1-0, it was simply Ecuador's game to lose!

I wasn't disagreeing with the amount of time given, but that he should of made everyone else aware, I still can't believe our players decided to foul three times just outside the 18, didn't vizuete warn them of how good a set piece team they are?... I can't say I didn't see this coming though..recently 90% of the time we play mexico ,they beat us 2-1.. Wc02, friendly giant satdium in 05 or 06 I believe, copa america, and today,.. There's probably more though..

Isaac Mina...unfortunatly at 28, he's no young pup. Anyway...good luck against Honduras on Saturday. I'll be waiting for the Germany-England game next week before I get excited about international matches again.

Weird game. I had flashbacks of the Argentina match. Not sure what happened, but when you make 6 subs in the last 10 minutes of the match, some disorganization is bound to occur.

I remember back in the day, when we were winning, Aguinaga was a master of slowing the game down and wasting time if needed. We need a guy like that again.

Actually the worst thing about last night is, I was actually impressed with the goalkeeper Banguera until that last play, where he completely lost his brain.

There were quite a few bright spots as well, I used to hate Saritama but he is more solid now, Isaac Mina was a beast, Bolanos and Ayovi were solid as usual, and Narciso Mina was active and looked dangerous up front. Guagua was also solid.

On the down side, Palacios was a total non-factor again, I think this guy is running out of chances - he has shown absolutely nothing at this level. I'm sure he gets good service when the Barcelona midfield is playing against other teams in Ecuador, but at the international level our midfield is not so dominant, and strikers have to make things happen and not just wait for the ball.

What is it with Ecuador always scoring first against Mexico only to end up losing 2-1?? it seems to happen every time these two teams play each other.

You guys did well in the 1st half considering the inexperienced team you had but looked lost in the 2nd half, it was a dumb move on the coach's part to make all those subs in the last minutes.

We always lose to Mexico ... they are our curse. I think we played very well with the B team we brought. Mexico played well too, but damn.. we could have kept it at a tie. We just always seem to lose to this team. Heartbreaking.. that overtime goal they squeezed in, and through Ecuador's fault alone.. what a stupid foul on behalf of Checa I think was the player.

p.s. this was the first time I actually heard the guys on telemundo actually say very good things about the ecuador nt, more so than the mexican nt .. I was surprised.. they even decided to make Quinonez the "man of the match". Quinonez should make a move to Barcelona S.C. :)

I agree...what's worse is that we're always drawn against them for some reason.

that game should have been 3-0 and over in 20 minutes if ecuador had decent forwards. palacios and bolanos sucks. pedro quinonez is a beast and needs to leave now before he turns inyo another Quiroz.

Mmmm not to sure about that, we should at least try to get rid of that 2-1 curse mexico always has us on, and argentine futbol is totally right that game had to be over right from the start. I would believe that we were trying to play with our youngsters if fabricio guevara, joao rojas, and jefferson pinto actually played in the beginning or at least given a decent amount of time at the second half, not the last 3 minutes.

Other than that it was just another game.

LA TRI PODRÍA TENER MAS ACCIÓN EN ESTE 2008.
    | Fecha : 2008-11-19 11:28:07 |
