This line up is horrible. Its ashame, you think Vizuete would at least give other European-based players a chance. And about the goalkeepers, Banguera Dominguez but more importantly that guy playing in Belgium deserve a chance. But Cevallos? so....old.... Where is Noboa? sigh

I've never even heard of most of these people!

What do you guys know about Joao Rojas? I heard he was ok...

It's going to be interesting to see the 2 maximum goleadores
in Ecuadors serie A and serie B score against Mexico ...

I would go with this starting line up...

    Máximo Bangüera (Espoli)

Enrique Gámez (Macará) Isaac Mina (Deportivo Quito)
Giovanni Nazareno (Deportivo Quito) Luis Checa (Deportivo Quito)

Fernando Hidalgo (Barcelona) Walter Ayoví (El Nacional)

Mexico will take it easy in this game since they'll play a very hard and decisive game against honduras 5 days later in tegucigalpa. I'm not to dissapointed with the call-ups (except for the fact that noboa and aragon were again looked over),this will give some younger and less expierenced players a chance to wear the "la piel de ecuador" like they say on the marathon jersey tags lol.

I couldn't agree more on the Noboa issue, I mean the russian championship ended last week right? I'm sure he is traveling to Ecuador pretty soon, I f he isn't there already.

Very true, but what really perplexes me the most is; isn't noboa part of the pan-american winning squad?, shouldnt he have [vizuete] taken a little liking to him?. Vizuete has called up montero a few times and even put him in the game vs peru !, the kid is 19 I believe, but ye he fails to call up a player who's a starter and some would go as far as to say key player for a russian championship team. Lets hope vizuete knows what he's doing.

And last time cevallos played he let in 3 goals against VENEZUELA!.. The guy is like a soldier, he dies on the line. Lol. He never rushes at anyone or the ball. We need a new keeper and aragon has been impressive, so he should get a second chance.

If he's improved then we should definitely give him a second chance. All I'm saying is that it would be kind of odd to bring him in to play against the same exact team he last played against, especially when we're taking a relatively weak team.

This is exactly what Vizuete needs to be doing!

This is a totally meaningless match for us, and for Mexico it's very important to gain some confidence and play against Honduras, in a match they cannot lose. There will not be any better opportunities to observe some of our young promises playing against top-caliber competition.

Good point Manolo, it has become clear in the last two games that the squad needs some replacement players to add some energy and pick up the slack where others are lacking. Between injuries and foul troubles it is important to have a bench of youthful future players. This should be a good game to watch not only for a hopeful victory but for all of us to see how these guys perform in the spotlight. I still hope Noboa does get a chance in the next qualifying rounds though.

Are the mejicans bringing in a good squad? Because with the mixed juveniles and unknowns from our league.. I doubt we will get a good result.. but hey you never know....

Technically speaking, Mexico can lose the game in Honduras and still move on to the Hex (next round of qualifying for CONCACAF) based on a fairly large goal-differential (7..I believe) with Jamaica. Honduras must win assuming Jamaica wins against Canada.

Mexico will be bringing an entirely Mexico-based squad with the exception of Nery Castillo of Manchester City. He is in limbo with that club right now and isn't seeing any minutes. His loan deal from Shaktar Donesk ends in January.

I'll be at the game along with a few regulars of the Mexico forum. Here is hoping for a good game and no injuries for both teams.

CONCACAF is as corrupt, or more, than CONMEBOL. Therefore, I wouldn't be totally shocked if Canada rolls over against Jamaica and loses 6-0 or something like that. Plus Canada's few good players will probably stay with their club teams since they have no chance in this match.

This always happens on the last day of CONMEBOL qualifying, when some teams are already qualified or eliminated, they don't really care anymore.

If I were Mexico, I would go to Honduras with a 'must-win' attitude.

If anything Concacaf would help Mexico not Jamaica, do you know how much money they would lose if Mexico doesn't advance?

If true that's a pretty decent lineup for Mexico...even without the Euros. I would have switched Vuoso for Ochoa (striker).

to add to the last 4 comments, if mexico loses this 'meaningless match' as some of you called, the press will go after the rich contract of Sven G...
turmoil will be the right word to travel to Hds.... NOT a good scenario
