i wish it was a competitive, but its not so im not expecting much entertainment or a big margin of victory for either side. we owe you guys for letting you play us while mclaren was in charge, we should have pulled a sickie on that day.

Theo came off injured against Stoke which didn't look good.
    Hope he's OK.

David Bentley is playing well now under 'Arry.
Maybe he will be recalled now for this game as I don't see the point of putting Beckham in this squad.

There were stories in the press recently that Capello was not impressed with bentley's attitude in training. If that's true I can't see him back in for the Germany game.

I can't see that being true though as he would have wanted to prove himself to Capello.
    Who knows though.
I think he's been doing well of late and we'll see if there is any truth to those reports with the squad selection for this game.

    Nice words Baz.

We need Micheal Owen for this.

    The original Kraut killer.

    ;)

I would like Owen back too but sadly it's doubtful, especially as he is only just coming back from injury.

I'll make a rough prediction of the first 11 now -

    .......................Hart

    Johnson...Ferdinand...Terry....Bridge

    .............Carrick....Lampard

    Gerrard..............................J. Cole

    .....................Rooney

    .....................Heskey

I think Agbonlahor and Wheater will come off the bench to be capped.

The best of the under 21 squad will get a chance.
Maybe Don Fabio will sacrifice a result in favour of experimenting.

There is talks about Loew doing the same with Germany and giving Marin, Castro, Kroos, Oezil. Helmes and a few other newbies a chance as well there shouldn't be too much sacrificing of a result. I doubt a lot of German players from the 1st team will get a call to play.

Both teams should just go ahead a field their U21 side.

I think Capello will give the younger players a chance but from the bench rather than starting.
    Who knows though.
The squad should be interesting regardless.

I hope that he starts with a few debutants. Bringing them on in the second half of a friendly serves little purpose as the plethora of substitutions kills the game and you learn more about them from the start.

I imagine the most likely to feature would be Agbonlahor, Hart, Wheater and Young.
