Which side is better? Personally I think T&T is better than Guatemala. They have a solid core of European players with a few premiership standouts. Guatemala relies on domestic based players and a few MLS guys. They are way too dependent on a very mediocre MLS striker.

His name is "Crazy Yank", hence probably a yank living in Mexico.

T&T is least bad between the two.

T&T, and they are going to prove it by advancing to the hex and leaving guate out

hmmmmmm, Better. I wouldnt say better i would say even. Sure T&T has won some important games but lost some too. Guate tied them in T&T.
so if T&T was better than Guate then they should of beaten Guate in T&T.
But yea i agree that Guate relies on one forward to do all the work and we all know Ruiz aint gonna do it. With a new coach we will some big changes and that will reflect against the USA. Now T&T has it very hard, Cuba thats coming with big confidence and well we all know that T&T stadium will be no problem since their fans are very quiet, that will mean trouble for the trinis, and if Guate does its work and Cuba beat the trinis this thread will be closed after Nov.11

They tied in both games (at Trinidad AND at Guatemala), so going by your logic, if Guatemala is better why didn't THEY win at home?

Also, lets not forget that they could not do it, even against 10 men for the last 50 mins of the game :D

T&T is the better team...not vastly superior but just better...

If that happens...I would say that Cuba was better on the day. Cuba beating T&T does not automatically make Guatemala better...but this thread is not about Cuba...it's between T&T and Guatemala.... :)

Well lets just hope u show up here when Cuba beats Trini. :D

Look the truth of the matter is Trini got nothing but old people playing on that team, sure they still got skills, sure they play in Europe. How long do you think that will last. Not long my friend.

Guate has young players already on the making, and yes we only have one old player which is Ruiz. Just to give you info, we have a 3 players in Europe, one in Argentina and one more on the way to play for Estudiantes de la Plata. So get your facts straight when you say we have only one player outside of Guate playing MLS, is two players in MLS u forgot Marco Pappa.

Only a Trini can make a thread like this:

First of all Trini hasnt won enough games against Guate to say that you guys are better than Guate. And Guate hasnt won enough games against T&T. So my friends in order to say that one team is better than the other specially between these two teams, you can only say that they're pretty much even up.
    Pay attention kids:
Guate & T&T tied both games when they played against eachother

    Make sense

Don't worry I'll be here but I'm sure it won't be to sulk :D

I agree that we have a few older heads in the team but they are needed at this point to help guide the younger ones with their experience. We know that they won't be around forever but hopefully when they do hang up their boots, they would have made a significant contribution to the development of the young guns...

??? I don't know what this is about. I did not make any such statement :(

    Cheers

Look lads, i dont hate the Trinis, i wish we could of been in different groups, perhaps in the easiest group ES/CS/SUR/HAITI :D

Either way whoever makes it out to the next hex, Good luck.

If T&T makes it to the next hex, well they deserve it and they have to show everyone why they made it that far. If by one miracle Guate makes it to the next hex, they really have to change their squad and not depend so much in Ruiz. And that my friends is the bottom line.

I never said you only have one player abroad. I said that you mainly rely on domestic based players and a few MLS players. While Argentina's league is decent I would rate it behind both Mexico and Brazil. It certainly doesn't compare to the major European leagues either. Ruiz is extremely average. As MLS has improved his production has decreased. He had two failed trials for two very bad premiership teams who aren't premiership teams anymore. Marco Pappa has looked pretty in MLS so far, but MLS isn't that great of a level and it will take at least one complete season to really say how good he is comparatively speaking. For the record I'm not from T&T. While I do speak Spanish I am not Mexican either.

On this we do agree. Guatemala is a much better said than El Salvador and would have easily qualified from that group.

Guatemala has never played a WC game (at any level), so my vote goes for trinidad and tobago

    Touche' MoRado......

I'm always going to say Guate is better then T&T though so its not even worth discusing. However this does look to be a big CONCACAF rivalry in the making...

All the non Guatemalans say T&T is better. I think that says a lot about the region's opinion.

Yea please close this thread, this is like comparing Costa Rica with El Salvador which is better in this hex.

Exactly my point none cause they both are in the same level in this WCQ 2010.

So before they close this thread please any non Guatemalan or Trini, bring the stats. Then we can talk. If not pretty even teams.

Over all Guat has a better head to head record 8 wins 5 draws and 5 lost
with 34 goals for and 23 against. But in world cup qualifiers T&T has the edge with
Win 4 draws 4 lost 3. T&T has eliminated Guat or finished higher than Guat 3 times (soon to be 4 :D) and Guat has eliminated or finished higher than T&T two times . T&T has been to 1 senior and 3 junior World Cups and Guat has been to ZERO. T&T has placed 3rd at 2000 Gold Cup beating Guat and CR along the way. So while Guat has the over all edge T&T wins when it counts.
