Marc started his 5th straight SPL game today against Inverness CT in the highlands of Scotland. the Caledonian stadium is never an easy place to play football as there is usually a swirling wind to contend with.

today was no different. to Marc's credit he kept at it although i've seen him play better for us. he didn't have a bad match, he just struggled at times to be involved as much as he'd like to be.

unfortunately he was carried off in injury time after he went down with what looked like a hamstring injury. no news on how bad it is yet. :(

Sounds like he's adapting well to the Celtic lifestyle. Too bad about the injury, hope it's not too serious and is up and running again real (not Real) soon.

    He's such a chunky monkey :p:

I was wondering how long can it take for some to be back in shape? This guy takes ages and there's still no improvements.

Hey, that means that Oleguer has now scored more times this season than Dani Alves.

You sound so silly and ignorant, you need to watch the games before you speak. Also he is in much, much better shape than he was a month ago . And he is getting better and better. Ronaldinho -8.5 was the rating he had from goal.com

You're such a fanboy  Who the hell actually agrees with Goal.com ratings a 100%, they are never accurate, if you have a bad game and score a goal they'll give you an 8 or something. I've seen Ronnie play and he still cannot run against defenders like he used to, so how is he in better shape? He's the same Ronnie for me thus far. I did watch the game, he's still got vision (difficult to lose) but he cannot do much else, no way in hell has he improved IMO.

If Im a fanboy then your a hater. For you to show such an out of date picture. And then say why does it take him so long to get back into shape. Shows your ingorance right there .

He can run past defenders now, maybe not like he use to be he is getting there. He is in no way gonna get back to how he was in 03 through 06 right away. But in time it will come back.

It never came back when he was still playing for us because, he was not training hard everyday. At Milan the story is very different.

Some people might take the "monkey" comment to be a racist remark. I honestly give two shits but I can see how some might take exception to it. As far as this kid being a fan boy, maybe he is. But let's trek back 2-3 years when Ronnie's balls were surgically attached to your mouth.

I'm black by the way and in no way did I insinuate a racist remark, it just rhymed.

Furthermore, sure when Ronnie was at his prime at Barca I loved him like any other fan, but I've lost complete respect for him. He's getting paid crazy amount of money and let's himself go, unbelivable and extremely unprofessional. Sure he was a legend and I thank him for the great times and memories but as I've said, no respect as his downfall was his own fault. People can blame the media and club etc. but who was the one missing trainings? being out late at night partying, drinking? Come one lets have some perspective here.

I couldn't agree more. Why should we respect an unprofessional player who refused to train, was a cancer in the dressing room and really hurt the team in the last season?

Because if he changes (gets his shit together at AC Milan), we should forgive him for his past. What purpose would holding a grudge against him serve? There's no point. Eventually, you need to let go of the past and forgive those who have wronged you but gone on to change (if he does).

His present is with Milan, not Barca. It had to take him a change of club to make him work normal? (notice not hard since being physically fit is expected). I don't hate Dinho, just lost respect for him tbh, he's still a great player on his day but he was responsible for his demise.

I'm not condoning or defending anything he did during his fall at Barca. I'm just saying that if he makes a sincere effort to regain form and become a great player again, we should respect him for that.

Does that mean we should have respect for Figo?

If somehow FCB ended up in the UEFA Cup and had to play AC Milan, our players should respect Ronaldinho and not let him have space.

Annnnd that's about as far as the respect should go.

Why should I respect a top flight athlete who pissed away two years of his career, while receiving millions of dollars from the club I root for?
Even if he now regains his old form at Milan(which I doubt he will), it makes no diference, because at some point in time he screwed Barca over. He was being paid a huge salary and he wasn't living up to his end of the deal. He was getting idolized here by the fans, and he let them all down by not training, drinking and partying. What he does from now won't change my mind. Not only did his form and lockeroom attitude cost the team in competition last season, but it also cost the club financially. His sale could've brought in at least 40-50 million, but because of his form and attitude the most anyone would offer was 21.

Ronaldinho had the decency to leave La Liga. The two don't compare.

True, but Figo didn't stink up the joint and become a cancer while he wore the blaugrana.

But don't you guys feel a little bitter that now a semi-decent Ronnnie has decided to show up all of a sudden?

I'm more glad than bitter. Admittedly, Ronaldinho was instrumental in me becoming interested in soccer in the first place. For that, I will always have a measure of respect for him. I'm happy that he seems to be doing well at AC Milan because I think it would be a waste of talent if he completely squandered his career. I do feel a little bitterness toward him for the part he took in the downfall of Barca (the past two seasons) but I also realize that it was not his fault alone. I think the most I've ever been pissed at him was back in 06/07 against Getafe when he was on the ground and kicked the defender who was standing over him in the balls, resulting in him being sent off. Because of that, he didn't play in 'that' Espanyol game.

I think above all else, Ronaldinho robbed himself of two should-have-been quality years at Barca. I think he regrets that now or will regret that in the long-run.

I do not agree with that!! Yes he may have wasted last year , but I do not believe you can say he wasted two years of his career. In the 2006-2007 season Ronaldinho scored 20 goals and along with that carried the team on his back for months while Eto`o and Messi were hurt. If you deny that then you are just being petty . Yes his formed may have dipped from the year before, but He was not as bad as people make it out to be.

Being paid a huge salary that he earned. I never new professional sports was a pay as you go to of arrangement . Whatever money he earned he earned it. And also he earned the club much much more than the club gave him. And to put it simply if Ronaldinho and Rijkaard had not come in the summer of 2003 where would this club be right now.

I believe we should all show him respect no matter what because even though all of this has happened the GOOD outweighs the bad.

Are you kidding me , he was being kicked all game as well as everyone else who was wearing a Barca shirt. Also he was kicked while he was on the ground. Are you telling me now, that a person cannot have a reaction to that. Give me a break.
