Two assists and a brilliant goal against Bayern (MOTM) last week, two goals, the important first and the winning last goal against Hoffenheim today (MOTM again). As a 19 year old. If that doesn't make him deserve his own thread, I don't know what does. Amazing talent.
When Squid said Kroos is a bigger talent than Ozil and Marin, i already said that Ozil is an exceptional one. Yes, i meant it, he is and will be better than Kroos(for various reasons unless Kroos manages to find a new club). Maybe equally talented as Marin. That's y i always concern about his decision of whether he'll be playing for Germany or not. He is definitely more technical and skillful, more agile in terms of movement, faster, has the CL expierence.........etc. Another great match from the young lad. Did Loew send out any scout to watch him play this week? Hope viedo will help him. Ozil needs recognition. When everyone is focusing on Kroos, Subotic, Helmes and Marin, Ozil shouldn't be overestimated
I remember how some questioned me here when I said that I believe Özil to be equally talented as Marin and Kroos (different strenghts and positions, of course). And despite Kroos' rather disappointing situation now, and Marin losing some of his spark, I still believe the same. With Özil, Marin and Kroos, we have some brilliant attacking talent coming through who have the potential to become truly great in future.
He just needs to keep it up and he'll be capped for Germany's NT before Christmas. Not sure about the next two qualifiers, that squad will probably be all about winning against Russia rather than about bringing in new talent. I think Özil is competing with Borowski, Marin will probably miss out the next time unless Marin is already one of "Löw's Guys" by now.
Is Marin really doing that bad lately? He is benched today, but he is apparently one of BMG's key players. The entire team have problems, and i have no idea why people are blaming on him now and bench him.
Marin was their strongest player when he came on. I think the coach will be fired after their loss against Cologne next week He keeps criticising ONLY Marin publicly, and Marin said for the first time that it's not fair. Because of that, I already thought that Luhukay will bench him.
Criticisng Only Marin? Haha, they should've sold Marin then. And we'll see what it turns out to be... With "wonderkids" such as Ozil and Marin, and other decent prospects like Kroos and Gebhart(Yes, i rate him the same as Kroos, he's our best player in our U19 champion team this summer). We should have no problem in attacking midfield. On the other hand, speaking of attacking options...i think good forward prospects such as Sukuta-Pasu, Manuel Fischer, Deniz Naki, Choupo-Moting, F.Baecker, Tsoumou and F.Kroos still yet to shine in the league. Thats worrying. Maybe in the near future, CBs and Fws are the two areas that we'll have problem at.
Well, let's be honest here, it's a great situation at Werder to develop as a young attacking player. That's why I wanted Kroos and Marin to go there. I think Löw should think about calling him up but I would understand him also if he'd wait a bit.
Özil's goal against Bayern last week was voted as the goal of the week by ARD Sportschau viewers. His two goals today were great also, maybe he'll win it again next week, although Hunt's amazing strike was even better IMHO. Aaron Hunt had a great match also, he deserves way more attention than he is getting IMHO. Another young player with the potential of becoming a valuable player for the national team in future.
well i dont think that anyone is forgetting Hunt but this boy has just so much bad luck with injuries. His potential is undeniable like he showed again today, he only needs to stay healthy. Bremen showed what a midfield with Diego, Özil, Hunt and Frings can do.
That's true, of course. Injuries have really cost him. Hopefully, he'll stay healthy, this could be his breakthrough season.
Ok yeah I agree with you here. I think if kroos does find a new club or gets some playing time fast, his style of game will actually make him the player most central to germany's game. Meaning that he will have the most responsibility and control over how things flow. You might see more of the dribbling you seem to think he doesn't have if he actually gets to play consistently. Marin and Oezil as far as I can see are a different type of player.
Thought Hunt was better at FW/supporting striker. He combined well with Klose 2 seasons ago at the frontline. Good prospect too
the core problem is the defence not the midfield. Sure Bremen will never have a top defence and rely on their good offense (but so do other clubs like Real, Arsenal, Barca etc.) but there are too many easy errors which cant be blamed on the midfield. Add Demichelis and Lahm to the defense and a good RB (Fritz ist just out of form) and Bremen would be a european top class team.
Initially I didn't give Ozil a chance relative to hyped up talents like Koors and Marin but his hard work and talent are shining through this season and he is outdoing both. Can't wait to see more of him. Don't worry, Marin won't be at Gladbach much longer. And for the coach to put any sort of blame on Marin is downright ridiculous. He is probably the most positive thing about their season so far.
I see him as Fring's replacement considering Bremen's philosophy. That's my take, I see Frings as a starter for this and next season max at Bremen if they find/ or mould someone decent in their line-up.
Dortmund unfortunately, only Bayern (maybe HSV or Bremen) or foreign clubs have enough money to get him.
we are talking about a realistic transfer fee of ~15mio (if Gladbach gets relegated) but even more is possible. In theory Hamburg might be able to pay this, at least their recent transfer activities showed that they are willing to invest money. I doubt that Schalke or Bremen would pay that much for a single player. Its not totaly impossible but imo not likely. I'd even say that Hoffenheim could have a better chance to get Marin. If they continue to perform like this then Hopp might spent some good money on new players for the next season and Marin would fit perfectly to Hoffenheims philosophy and personaly i think this would be a great solution. Hoffenheim is the up and coming club and Rangnick the perfect coach for a talent like Marin. Another club who might have a chance too would be Wolfsburg which has the money and is willing to use it.
