I will never understand why Salas never gets a chance, even you the Liga fans have forgotten about him, he isn't even old, he's like what 27-28? I know he wants to leave in December, but he Can't be punished for that, and about Larrea he finished the decently but his first half was horrible.

I always call for Salas to be on the pitch, he's still got about 6 years of good footballing left if he can stay healthy, he has the conditions to play, he has the heart. For chrissake, he's a fan cult-hero......I have never forgotten el Mago

Can someone explain to me how the qualification to Copa Sudamericana works? I thought it was like UEFA Cup, for the 3rd and 4th place teams that don't make it to the Champions League/Copa Libertadores?

Why is the champion of Copa Libertadores playing this? Man United is not playing the UEFA Cup!

Honestly, for a team that just won the biggest prize ever, I don't see the motivation for these games. Liga looked like they were in practice, in the first half they were passing the ball around in their own 18-yard box, playing keepaway! On the other hand, the kids from Boca were hungry, trying to show the coach they are ready to play on the first team.

Seriously, motivation makes a big difference...have you guys been watching the CONCACAF Cup? All the "little" teams are winning because they are playing the matches of their lives, while the "big" teams are having trouble because they are playing in half-empty stadiums and have other matches to think about.

Because Copa Sudamericana is not really like Uefa Cup.

Every year they change the format of who qualifies in Ecuador.
For this years copa sudamericana it was like this.

Winner of 2nd Round 2007 (Liga)
    Winner of 1st Round 2008 (D.Quito)

For next years copa sudamericana they will change it again, and I believe it will be like this

    Liguilla 4th Place (2008)
    Liguilla 5th Place (2008)

Bauza is a ********ing twat!! Salas confirmed that the coach must not like him, as we already knew, based on the little action he has been getting!! i could understand not using him if he was injured and not 100%, but WTF!!! this is bullshit!! he is a LDU legend!! and the marquee player and he is riding the bench??? this is wrong!! especially the way Bieler and Manso are playing, he should be starting instead!! and who the ******** is Christian Suarez, to get ahead of Salas!! you got to be shitting me!! and Vaca and Delgado still get very limited action as well!! the bastard Bauza has some nerve!!

I wouldn't worry about the last game... it was a bad one, but not one to dwell on... I am sure Liga will take it to Boca the return leg and hopefully with style and can get through...we will have Urrutia and Campos back which should help... but still, we missing Reasco and Araujo... man I am pissed still... Bieler!!?? is this guy a soccer player??

    Putting personal feelings aside!
    Yes you do need them!
You guys has not found a replacement for Vera! which is where Hidalgo comes in!
    Castro has been excelent!
Palacios is having an awesome season as one (the) top scorer this season.
Quiroz is getting back to rhythym and w/ his shot and free kick, he is a player that could be very useful!
So in other words, these players are seleccionados, and are very skillful and would be very helpful to have them in any team in the world!

Hell No !! Now That Barcelona Made It After Trial And Error And So Much Hardships... Now That We Are On A Winning Streak And Are On Top Of The Ranking, Now That The Team Is Finally Defined And The Stars Are Known... Barcelona Is Going To Lend Players To A Rival?? To Ldu??? Just Because They Are Ecuadorian Also .. So! And What!? Emelec Is Also Ecuadorian.... And I Know For The Hell Of It That Barcelona Would Not Lend Anyone To Them.. In The Past Stuff Like That Was Done ... But Now A Days It Seems So Traitorous... If Liga Is Sucking Right Now.. Then Boo Hoo.. It Aint Barcelona's Problem... If Barcelona Gotta Be Papi And Lend Then Whatever... Papi Will Be Helping Out! But If It Was Up To Me The Answer Would Fcuk No ! I'm Sure Any Self Respecting Liga "fan" Would Also Agree Not To Receive Any Help On The Grounds Of Loyalty And Sraight Up Taking Responsibility For Your Own Success As A Team. I Don't Like This Nationalistic Bullshit At All. It's Not The Nt... So I Don't Know What Has Gotten Into People's Minds. First Is My Home Shirt And Colors, My Team, Which Is My Like Mother. Then Is The Nt, Which I Also Love Which Is Like An Aunt. It Doesn't Make Me Any Less Patriotic.. But Mos Def Sets Me Apart From Nationalistic Views Which Would Lead Me To Committ Such Absurd And Stupid Things Such As Help Out A Rival By Lending Them Our Talent... Because They Need Our Help.

    You are thinking small!
Look at the big picture! If Liga gets this players AND win this tourney, the Ecua league will get much more atention from big scouters in europe.
Also this would also help Barce players to shine on a major tourney, AND eventually make a move to international teams. Meaning more money for Barce and more money for the players and more of Ecua players in Europe = better NT thanks to the international experience that they get out there.

I doubt that FIFA would allow this. Teams can't just "borrow" players for a tournament, what kind of precedent would that set? Teams would be "borrowing" players for all kinds of competitions.

It would actually make more sense if there was some rule by which clubs in the WCC could bring players that were in contract at the time they won the qualifying tournament. South America is almost always at a disadvantage in this tournament for the past 20 years, because the top players from the club that wins the Copa Libertadores are usually bought by the time December rolls around.

This way, Guerron and Vera could participate, as Liga is sorely missing those players.

I was thinking about that! not sure if FIFA has any type of rules. but if that's the case then all this argument is not necesary. I'm just trying to get people to look beyond the emotional elements of this idea or rumor. It would be beneficial for everyone, the players, the clubs, the league

my parents have been in Quito for the past 2 weeks, they went to the Liga game yesterday and while they were sitting in the Palco, who comes and sits behind them? Manso, Bieler, Araujo...they took pictures with em and got autographs and whatnot...it was good news for me, I got an autographed jersey now!

As for Araujo's health, he's been running for the past few days so he's said to be recuperating faster than expected.
Reasco too is also recuperating faster than expected and is slated to be back by the end of November in tip-top shape...

What do you guys think if we got Palacios from Barcelona?? is this fact that Liga is interested in him, Quiroz and Castro?? those guys i think would make our team stronger... I could see the back line being Castro, Araujo and Campos or Calle! that would be sick!!

as much as i don liek seeing Bieler, he is an automatic starter

in the midfield, we could slot in Quiroz beside Urrutia. that would put Larrea on the bench... but he would be back when Urrutia decided to try his luck internationally.

midfield would be Urrutia and Quiroz in the center, wing backs Reasco and Ambrossi. Bolanos and Salas could fill the space upfront along with Palacios.

Manso has not convinced me recently either... but once he picks up, I would be happy to put him back on the starting 11.

I am just speculating if that deal does go through... can it be possible??

didnt happen... I watched the whole game and I am left to wonder how Salas and Delgado were left on the bench...:( they both made impacts in their own right, Salas was getting fouled and giving Liga dangerous dead ball situations near goal and Delgado even scored!! i hope we see them more often!!
