    A nice op-ed piece here.

Some great points. It really is incredibly amazing how the Republicans can and will spin, contort, make insanely convoluted, or otherwise exploit ANYTHING and turn it to their favor, even if the facts scream otherwise. Honestly, it's maddeningly brilliant, if not diabolical.

I also find it incredible that I have more world experience than the Palin. Mind blowing, really...

So do I. So do a lot of Americans. Hell, if you've vacationed overseas for more than two weeks, you have more foreign experience than she does.

BUT SHE'S READY ON DAY ONE!!!

I have more world experience than both Palin and Obama combined. Maybe I should be president.

It's both. As has been pointed out in this forum, it's not the steak, it's the sizzle with the GOP.

The Democrats tend to forget that every non-felon over the age of 18 has a vote. If you remember high school as well as I do, you'll recall that there are some pretty ********ing dumb people out there. They are now part of America's voting population, and the only thing that's changed about them is that their hair has turned a bit grey (or a bit loose) and they have children who will grow up to be as stupid as they are.

The GOP is a twofold organization: The top tier is made up of wealthy and clever folks, and the bottom tier is made up of stupid folks who either think they're going to someday be wealthy or are distracted by side issues like the appearance of faith, the promotion of Christianity and an obsession with guns.

The GOP's top tier has cultivated a relationship with these bottom-tier people, taken advantage of their ignorance and their dependence on a deity, used their xenophobia to guide them to the front lines in times of war and sold them on an illusion of prosperity and independence that does not now and will never apply to them. I'm not sure the Democrats can stoop to the levels necessary to attract some of these people to their ranks. Every time I've thought about Orwell recently, I can see these people going "Jesus good, Mohammed baaaaaaaad...".

    Incredible?

Paddle-To-The-Sea has more world experience than Sarah Palin. That ain't hard to accomplish.

Yeah, but I got an email from my great-aunt saying that you weren't even born in this country.

There's hope, my friend. I escaped the cycle of ignorance. I'm no Mensa candidate, but I have a much better grasp of the facts than the rest of my family.

Why would that be bullshit? I believe ASF was born and lived in Argentina before he moved to the US. Doesn't that make his statement true?

Plus he does a lot of business with China. And if he's like the rest of us, he has an active interest in overseas travel.

Saw a great comment somehwere on the net yesterday (can't remember where) that went something like this:

I can see the moon from my window, but that doesn't make an astronaut.

 I don't do nuance. And if you weren't on the rag every day of the month, that wouldn't be a problem for you.

Saying it was stupid seemed kind of rude.

Stupid's in your bathroom mirror, David.

Go drink and drive, please. Your input is not necessary.
