Mendez seems to have got his first eleven place back in Eindhoven, as attacking midfielder.

FC Basel made the CL this year. Caicedo would have started for sure had he stayed. I hope to see him get some playing time a Man City.

Overall a great week for Ecuas en el exterior!! :)

    1. Valencia scores a beauty in Wigan's win
    2. Benitez strikes twice for Santos
    3. Espinoza scores for Cruzeiro
    4. Guerron has a great debut for Getafe (despite idiot Spanish racist chants)
    5. Castillo signs for Everton
    6. Caicedo looks like he's going to a more modest team
    7. Mendez plays full 90 in PSV victory - he seems to be a lock this season in central midfield.
    8. Bam Bam Hurtado performing well in Colombia.
    9. Not to forget Christian Noboa, scores for his team in Russia. This guy needs to get a serious look from Vizuete.

looks like he moved there on loan but I don't have time to do more to confirm on this - a quick "google search" did nothing but bring up a few unconfirmed reports.

By the way, Hertha is not really a more modest club. Man City has really not won a thing that is worthy of calling them a "big club" and other than the money that just came in, they aren't above Hertha as far as "glamour" or having a "Elite" label status.

Man City have the potential, but not today, not yet - they need to win something first.

yup, snubbed right under Chelsea's noses. They actually had Robinho shirts for sale on their website! Man City are definetly looking like a contender above Villa, Pompey and the Spurs! Everton is behind!

Shit...he missed the transfer window?? WTF??? I was hoping the loan to Hertha went through but I didn't hear anything. you are right, unless he impresses the crap out of some people or Man City sees a lot of injuries, he can forget about top flight playing time until December.

uuuugghh not caicedo, man oh man thats a serious blow if he ends up wasting his talent at the reserve team for what it's worth though he is still only 19 and we must keep faith in this guy 19 guys come on he has so much to learn and time is on his side so no worries.

Hopefully we'll see him move out of Man City once the transfer window opens up again in December!

That would be the logical thing for him to do, I don't care what team it is but he needs to leave Man City, I would like to see him play in Germany we have a sizeable ecuadorian colony there. The summer transfer window is in February though right? unless he is sold by then I hope for to gain experience enough to go back to Man City or atleast any top flight EPL squad.

    Sure, WTF not?

He's 19...he could easily play for a team like Bielefeld or M' Gladbach and develope further as a player.

I don't think so.. German league is way too difficult and how many South americans have triumph there?? Not many..

What's "triumph there" mean? Unless you are a world class player in Bayern, Schalke or Werder you have a poor chance at winning a title. For Caicedo, playing as a starter in a humble club for a full seaon two would be a "triumph". Like I said - he's 19, he still can develope.

Understand of course, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt!

Unless things have change since I left Germany, Hertha Berlin is not a modest club and has all the pressure just like Bayern Leverkusen.. I never thought Caicedo was that good..he has potentail but he's ********ing lazy!! The Swiss bought him for how much? 300k? and than sold him for 5 million buck three years later? ********ing NICE!!!

I don't know when you were in Germany last but you cannot compare Hertha to Leverkusen.

Hertha is not in the top 5 of German clubs - Leverkusen is.
