Chula have started to do well in the 2nd half of the season and have crushed a few teams this year.

BEC on the other hand have started to wobble, they dominated against Title rivals Chonburi but still lost and this seems to have set them back a peg. They are now 8 points behind leaders PEA.

BEC are probably the most hated club in Thailand due to the fact they have the biggest budget and they are always there or there abouts at the top of the table, but they seem to lack that final push.

Chula have started to play well under 'Zico' and have pulled away from relegation which more or less looked certain at the beginning of the year.

BEC could pull themselves back into the title race next weekend when the top 2, PEA and Chonburi, meet each other. But with games running out, the early season favorites have more or less run themselves out of the reckoning

MALAYSIA were drawn in a tough Group A alongside favourites Oman, Timor Leste, Indonesia and Vietnam for the Raja Muda Johor Cup beach soccer invitation yesterday.

Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Philippines and Brunei make up Group B for the five-day tournament which begins tomorrow.

Thailand and Myanmar look strong bets to qualify for the semi-finals from Group B.

Could do, or shall we wait until the end of the domestic season that finishes in October? Maybe start a fresh for next season?

If you create a new one, maybe call it Thailand Thread 2008

Thailand have changed their home shirt from Red to Yellow.

Yellow represetns the colour of the Monarch and will now be the first choice colour for Home games, Blue will stay as the away kit. This has been approved by FIFA and AFC.

Former England international Peter Reid will begin his job as Thailand’s coach in the Agribank Cup in Hanoi next month. Ong-art Kosinkha, secretary-general of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), said yesterday the FAT had decided to send the national team to take part in the four-team tournament in Hanoi where they will face hosts Vietnam, New Zealand and a European side yet to be determined.

It will be Reid’s first assignment as Thailand’s coach with former Thailand captain Tawan Sripan his assistant.

Reid will call 30 players for training after the Thailand Premier Leauge ends next month. The squad will also be for the AFF Suzuki Cup (the Asean Championship) in December.

In the meantime, Ong-art said the King’s Cup in Bangkok, which was originally scheduled for November, had been postponed indefinitely.

Yes, pity, but FAT have left it too late, and to be honest, it simply feels like they can't be bothered to organise it.

Instead we will go play Agribank Cup to get some action against Vietnam who we play in AFF Suzkui Cup, so why we playing them now?? New Zealand who will surely not have their very best players out in force and a European team - but what European team would go to Vietnam during their season? Probbaly someone like Iceland.

Sad to see the King's Cup disappear, but maybe this is a sign of the times under a European coach. But hope to see it back next year as it's kind of part of the Thai calendar, where we have it in numerous sports, such as boxing for example.

    Bring it back, it's tradition!!!
