Well, I figured someone needed to start a thread on it!

I am wondering... Is anyone willing to digitally record this thing? It might be a nice fundraiser for The Regiment to circulate copies. But I never said that.

Bringing up a busload would be neat, bringing up 4 would be cool as hell.
    Bringing a PLANE?!? Awesome!

Hope to see some serious fannage up here to see your team put on a valiant (yet losing) effort :D

Mikey, I hope your (understandably) dissing the plane means you are a definite for the bus - in comparison, that trip is almost free ;))

yeah im signing up for the bus not sure if we are going to get the minimum ammount needed for the plane but I imagine some sponsors and bigger wigs than me will sign up for it.

that would be cool as hell though

    Well see you in RFK!

Presuming both sides put out their top squads, is it reasonable to think Charleston could knock off their 3rd (and a half, including Seattle) MLS side in this tournament? I have seen some real skill and pace from this Battery team. I want to hope for a win....

The Assistant GM for Atlanta came over to the group of visiting Battery fans after Saturday's match and said the whole Silverbacks office is going. Of course, goes w/o saying Battery HQ will be there 100%.

So after the Fire/DCU game last Saturday at Toyota Park, after a tough loss as I was leaving the stadium, I yelled out to a group of DCU fans, "Go Battery!!" They kinda just looked at me and laughed.

they wont be laughing when the yellow and black attack and silence the "screaming eagles"....lol

we'll have 4 days rest for the game so as long as we dont get any injuries i cant see why we wouldnt put up a fight and would it really be considered an upset if we've already beaten 2 1/2 MLS teams?

Sadly there wasnt enough people signed up by today to make the plane trip a reality (enough to fill a bus though!) so that fell though.

the Bus trip is still one and sign ups need to be made by Aug 29th

$90 a head for trip and ticket to match

leave at Sep 3, 7:30am from Blackbaud and return apporx. 7am Sept 4

Call the Battery at 971-GOAL ext 206 to sign up

    if you just want match tickets in the Battery suppporter section you can get them for $17 ea from DC United, Call or email Zach Walker at 202-587-5469;
    zwalker@dcunited.com

Was told the Battery will be wearing their red  kits. I would prefer the yellow and black and might still wear my jersey! I kno wI will have all the flags and banners as well.

I will be recording it on my DVR, so I can watch it once I return from the trip. Im sure that with 12 hrs of travel and drinking before the match there will be acouple things I want to see again.

I'm impressed with your front office promoting this game and encouraging people to come up any way they can and get them to sit together. They know the value of travelling support at an important away match. Some supporters in Montreal were trying to organize an Impact trip to Toronto and asked if management wanted to be a part of it or promote it, and the FO in Montreal basically said "Why should we? There'd be nothing in it for us."

We have had good support with our front office. They often stop by tailgates and even had the owners send beer over to our section from time to time. they make it easy to support the Battery.

From what I understand we already have one bus full and most of the 30-40 that did sign up for the plane trip, made other flight arrangements up. Quite a few people that said they were going to sign up to go still havent called the FO yet so we might have two buses plus another. I also know most the front office will be there as spectators as well. There are several people I know in the DC area that are coming to support the Battery as well. I think we will have close to 150 there, many more than I expected initially!

alot of this goes out to the our front office sending out the eamils, doing the logistics, ect. without which we might of had 10% of that number.

I will say this... In the short time I have been following the Battery, including bringing the wife down for her first match, the Battery make it very easy to be a fan. Fantastic, friendly people who really care.

    Oye yeu cannon swabs

According to Wiki there will be two cups at stake on the 3 of Sept.

    The Open Cup itself

And something called the Coffe Cup???

Wiki doesn't say much about it, like how where when and why it was created, and I was jsut wondering if some one here could shead some light on this "Inter league Derby" award.
