The A5 is lovely..... I hope to get a RS4 or RS6 some day, but the military doesn't pay me enough to afford one

    RS6's are the bomb

the other day i was at the lights, and what i thought was an A6 wagon drove by, but it sounded like a muscle car, then i look at it, see the two fat exhausts and RS6 logo and got a semi

Its already out. The new Dual Clutch Tranny just came out on the 09 Models. Everybody wants that one but they cant give away the 6 speed models.

Maybe next year or the year after Im thinking about getting the new Audi A5 or S5, man those cars are beautiful and yesterday I missed the street I was supposed to turn on because I saw a black one, I thought it was an R8. Those LEDs are such a great feature.

Yeah I've seen a couple already, the carbon fiber roof on the coupe is pretty sexy. Its just not as appealing as the E46 though, its a V8, and hardly seems as impressive engineering wise as the previous one which was a beast.
M3s seem to miss a generation every now and then. The E30 was a legend, E36 was crap, E46 was awesome, and now the E90 is just eh...

Yeah this M3 wont be remembered.

I think the reason the e36 and this one will fail is because it can be mistaken for another 3 series. The E46 is 1 or 2 inches wider and has those muscular fenders and the hood. The e30 M3 also looked alot different. The E36 and E90/92 dont stand out the way an M3 looks...But I saw an alpine white one the other day with a black roof, it Looked hot.

    M3 vs 335i

To be honest, the only BMW I like is the E30, which I reckon is an absolute classic. I'd be tempted by a 318iS for my next car, but they seem to have shot up in value recently. I thought I stood a chance of getting in before scene tax but obviously not. :(

    how is a 400 HP 4L V8
that revs to 8250rpm hardly impressive?

Not as impressive as a 333 hp out of a 3.2L, considering it came a generation later.

that inline six was a special engine

but you cant say the new one is unimpressive

I didn't say its unimpressive, I just said its not as impressive as the previous generation, which it isn't.

ahhh I see I misread you, thought you wrote unimpressive

    but anyway
they had to introduce a new V8
because the 335i with the twin turbo 6 cyl was as fast as the E46 M3 and the M had to stay N/A

If anyone could have could got more horse power out of an inline 6 it would be BMW. If even if they did there would be many questions of the engines reliability. The M3 is more of a GT that is meant to be daily driven rather then some of the purer sports cars that are mainly weekend toys and dont see that much action. Therefore a V8 was the perfect solution.

Did anyone see the new M3 on Top gear a couple months back. It owned the RS4 and c63 AMG.

The new M3 is going to sell like hot cakes despite its price.
