I know that I'm going to regret posting this because someone will get excited about this, start planning something and I'll feel obliged to go! In any case, I'm content to sit at home on August 12, but also tempted to be in DC for the match. It is easier for me to find time than money, so if anyone is thinking about a van with shifts driving instead of a room, or a bunch of folks in a room to save money I might be persuaded to be a part of it. It would be a shame if no one made the trip.
That's not to long before Toronto, so I have a feeling it might be a pretty large collective no. I would love to go, but can't do two trips in two weeks.
Same here. I know we've got a couple of Riders that live down there, so we should be able to continue the streak of having at least one member at every game. Unfortunately that streak will end August 26th.
I wish the match wasn't midweek. If it was a Saturday afternoon, it’d be perfect. So much for that. Hopefully it will be televised on an Anglophone channel so I can understand everything. Or then again, if it’s on Telemundo and we score a lot and keep hearing GOOOOOOOOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL, I would be ok with that too.
You can always listen to Feldman on the Revs webcast while you're watching the match....If you can put up with the 5 second delay between the two! After further review...http://www.usopencup.com/ Only radio available for NE/DC Open Cup semi USOpenCup.com has confirmed that there will be three different online radio broadcasts available for the Open Cup semifinal match between D.C. United and the New England Revolution on August 12. The game is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time and will be held at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. Fans can listen to an English and a Spanish language radio broadcast through the team’s official website at DCUnited.com, while New England will offer a live radio broadcast through RevolutionSoccer.net. While there are no plans to provide a video broadcast for the battle between the two remaining MLS teams, there is expected to be an online video broadcast for the other semifinal.
Just another reason why the USOC will never succeed. If you can't have a video broadcast, even if exclusively online, for two stadiums that are capable of doing so, then it shows that the higher-ups really could care less about the tournament.
Great point! but then again, I'd rather just not watch and read the box score because I shouldn't have to put up with this. It needs to be on a normal channel. It's a major tournament.
THE USOC should be highly regarded and maybe more so than MLS Cup. But the glitz and glamor of the Superbowl is what the MLS wants and that is the MLS Cup, in a matter of speaking.
I'll be rooting bigtime for Charleston... Should we win, I think we'll have a chance at hosting the final.... If Seattle wins I'd be shocked if they didn't host the final... It'll be damn hard to make the trip to Seattle a couple days after the Toronto trip...
When we make it to the final, regardless of who we play, we should host the Championship match. We are the reigning champions afterall
That's not how it works. Teams bid to host games in the tourney. One would think Seattle would go all out to host the final.
Just praying one of my family has a home computer where we can listen in to the match. We REALLY planned this trip well didn't we? SOOOOOOO ticked off right now... even though Pete and I leave for Toronto in about 3 hours....... to see MY OTHER TEAM tomorrow night
I think I may be the only Revs fan at RFK for the game - my lesser half (in this case) has decided that she wants to root for DC. Unfortunately its one of the only times I get to see the Revs in person now after moving down to DC. Its strange going from STH to living overseas to living in a different MLS market - though i can promise that I will never support DC.
That will actually be a big week - the US plays Cuba at RFK that weekend (11th) and then the Revs come in later in the week, so that will be fun.
