5. What we call our supporters section: I personally like "The Penn", could have many meanings behind it and would be intimidating if we put up a fence around our section....

 

Seattle or Bin Ladin? Hm.... you would have to be really bored for that topic but hey, why not...

You guys should do what West Seattle and Paul do. Go back and forth over really anal stuff like the color of the tag on the inside of our kits ; ) . The hours pass quckly and the entertainment value is priceless... (he says, with great sarcasim) ; )

Seriously, you guys will have a lot of good topics to discuss the stadium progress. A lot of the stuff, Son's of Ben is doing in the Community, potential players, Coaches, GM, Media Coverage, Interviews and who knows, maybe New England makes it to the MLS Cup final and lose again.

 

Yeah if they make the final again this year I may need to buck up and make the trip...

 

Repped. My prediction: this will be better than the actual mascot's name.

As for what else to discuss, remember that by this fall/winter when the name and colors are announced...

• There will be at least one new young phenomenal savior of American soccer graduating from middle school to the national team, and we will be arguing about whether he's overrated or not (he will be), whether he should play in the World Cup (no), and whether our team should sign him or not (they won't).
• There will be at least one aging European or South American or Mexican superstar hinting about, or at least rumored to be thinking about, retiring to MLS. We'll discuss whether he'll actually help the team he's assigned to (presumably the Galaxy), whether he'll turn the MLS into a NASL retread world-joke retirement league (he won't), whether it'll stimulate interest in MLS around the world (yes, but not much), and whether Philly should try to get him to come here (they will, but he won't).
• There'll be a rumor about another MLS team folding, moving, or being in financial trouble, and we'll argue about what the league should do and whether there will be a second team in New York in 2010 (there won't).
• There'll be a lively discussion about whether the Phillies' surprising September, or the Eagles' controversial October, will overshadow the new team's news and ticket drive (no need to worry; there's still a year to go).

And don't forget, we'll probably still need a coach; the conferences may need to be aligned to accommodate us; and we won't know yet what beer will be served at the new stadium.

 

I sure hope it's the new Belgian Bud.
