Here's the interview. I almost didn't post it because Radnich is such a f***** tool. Truly truly annoying and deserves a kick in the balls. Sorry Norwich City supporters, the rest of the local sportscasters aren't as big a wankers as Radnich. The guy is known for ranting and spewing nonsense. I decided to still post the interview because I thought some Quakes fans may not be as put off on Radnich as I am and, after all, the interview is the first televised interview of Hucks here in the Bay Area. I have been watching this jackass his entire career. I couldn't even watch the entire interview because he just makes me sick. I would also like to apologize to all Norwich fans, hell all football fans for this idiot getting the first interview. There are many better than him.
That was the worst interview I have ever seen. Every question was ridiculous, off-topic, and random. The best one was at 3:06, Huckerby's reaction to it was hilarious. Welcome to the team, Darren Huckerby. You did well during that horrible interview. I would have been on the verge of laughing uncontrollably.

That guy is a retard...Norwich is the city in the County of Norfolk and were in the Southeast Not the North. God i hate that man already and first time i watched him....and that goal if I remember correctly was against Birmingham not Man Utd.
Y'all are crazy. Radnich doesn't pretend to know what he doesn't know, but he treats his interviewees like real people. He gives the same treatment to everyone he interviews, big or small, famous or not ... light, conversational, lots of joking. I understand he's not everyone's cup of tea, but by running this interview, he and KRON were welcoming Huckerby to the area ... even stuck on a TV station no one watches, Radnich remains the #1 sports guy in the Bay Area. I guarantee you, his fans will take one thing away from this interview, which Radnich says at the end: "seems like a nice guy." What more do you want? They showed a great goal, gave the team a few minutes of air time, and introduced a new player to the audience. Yet you all are crying because Radnich didn't know Darren Huckerby played for Norwich.

Yes, exactly what I was going to say. He said his name perfectly in the beginning of the video and then fifteen seconds later he was butchering it like it was the hardest name in the world. Radnich has always been an arrogant prick who's annoyed me over the years and because of that, i'll probably dislike him forever. It's embarrassing to not know what team he's coming from and it's embarrassing that he asked about Becks and Victoria. My oh my...
Oh well. It's a little embarrassing to let the Norwich fans see something like that, but guys like Radnich are there to speak to the lowest common denominator here. Hopefully Hucks realizes this, and that there are members of the media here who are able to talk about soccer at a higher level of discourse. Back before I got into soccer, during the 49ers heyday (I was a big Niners fan) I used to like Radnich. He covered the Niners a lot of course, and was always trying to get to a personal level and joke around with his interviewees. But over the years he's gotten more abrasive and annoying. And of course he is clueless about soccer, which of course does not make him unique in any way among the American mainstream media.
You are missing the point. Appearing for a few minutes on KRON with Gary Radnich isn't about anything other than being an amiable presence for a fairly large audience of sports fans. You think Radnich is a prick, and you aren't alone, but it's irrelevant. He is popular, his audience includes people who aren't necessarily soccer fans, he doesn't say soccer sux, he just has Huckerby on, jokes around with him for a couple of minutes, and is done with it. This is free advertising for the Quakes, and despite the pissing and moaning of those who think every sportscaster should know who played left back on the losing side at yesterday's SuperLiga match, Radnich, idiot or not, did nothing to hurt the Quakes with his audience and plenty to help them. Sometimes I think the people around here would prefer a Buck Shaw Stadium with 9000 BigSoccer members to a new stadium filled to capacity with a mixture of hardcore fans and newbies. Before Huckerby went on TV with Radnich, my guess is the majority of viewers didn't know who he was. Now they know. They've seen footage of him scoring a great goal, they've seen he's a good bloke, and they know that Radnich thinks Huckerby's a nice guy. That's all that matters.
You guys are way to harsh on radnich. I've listened to him all my life tv or Radio and he's great. He doesnt know much about soccer, but I doubt Vern glenn would of done a better job either.
