Why is it that MLS teams have now beaten most of the FMF teams, except for Pachuca? When will Mexican teams start taking this sh*t seriously? (The excuse that they don't just doesn't sit right with me).

Pachuca lost in last years opening round to an MLS team. Are you going to wet your pants about that too? You should probably just become an MLS/Nads fan if youre going to get so wrapped up the results of a lame tournament. The lone requirement is being stupid, and you would definitely fit in.

lame tournament my ass... why participate in it then? They better have f*cking won that tourney last year and they should win it every year. Why give the nads an opportunity to rub shit in our faces more than they already do because of the almost 9 year spell we got going on.. ALMOST A F*CKING DECADE!!

I just don't like how some of you here proclaim the FMF to be so superior to the MLS (I think it is.. but not to the level that some of you do)

Somebodys got to. Plus its some games to warm up before the season starts. When has an MLS team ever beaten an FMF team when it mattered? It doesnt happen much at all, so why worry about a tournament that doesnt even hand out a million dollars to the winner?

 

Just a few points... El Pirruis, it's not like me to defend a spazz but....them chanting "your suck" to Oswaldo is pretty dead on =P None of us should be surprised that Atlante go served by Houston. Right before the game started I told my brother "Atlante is going to lose 4-0" I mean Atlante hasn't been good for a while, I mean they were in 15th place out of the 18 teams, since they won the title they've had nothing but poor results. So take a team that has sucked for a while, in pre season form and put them up against the recent MLS champ in full out season form and you get the result we saw against Atlante. I think this is a great tourney for the Mex Pre-season...although I would like to see more teams debut and start more reserve players, I think the only team that semi did that was chivas. I really don't know what happened with Santos, they should have at least tied.

Miss Universe 2008 was alright, I mean all the girls there are pretty and if I saw any of them walking down the street I would think that they are super hot. Miss USA may not be the hottest one, but she is pretty. Ms. Velenzuela is pretty too, although Ms. Colomiba was a mutha fu*ken' knock out!

 

it's pre-season. some of our teams are playing their second full pre-season game of this year

i'm not sure if you're familiar with mls, but they play their seasons through the summer, so they are in full season form.

they are out to prove something and mfl teams aren't. mls team hasn't beaten a team in mexico in a long time, and haven't eliminated a mexican team in the ccc in 7 or 8 years, and haven't beaten a mfl team in the sudamericana, ever. not one of four teams could win the tourney last year, even though they were playing pre-season form teams.

they haven't been to the final of the concacaf cup since the tournement was held entirely in the us, haven't advanced at all in the sudamericana, not one round. i'm not sure where you are getting your information, but clearly, you should reconsider your stance on the quality of their league.

i'm assuming because mfl players don't post on bigsoccer and probably don't give two shits what a bunch of blogging nerds have to say about their league.

mfl is superior by that much. you are just being a spazzo.

 

Nothing from this "tournament" carries any type of weight whatsoever. It's designed to try and raise the profile of the mls. If they figure they could compete with FMF teams while their in pre-season mode, then so be it. Like Pasion said, it doesn't make any difference since they can't beat any FMF teams outside their country. The title of Hanna Barbera Cup is very fitting for this money grab.
