So next summer we have the Maccabiah, if the USA put together this line-up, I bet that they would take the whole competition:

    Andy Gruenebaum (GK)

Jonathan Bornstein, Benjamin Benditson (Steve Lenhart - if he's actually Jewish), Sam Brill, Leo Krupnik

Kevin Friedland, Benny Feilhaber, Michael Enfield, Jarryd Goldberg

    Jordan Gruber, Jordan Cila

    Bench:

    Justin Meyers (GK)
    Matt Baum
    Jo Jo Katz
    Kyle Altman
    Brett Meyers
    Daniel Kramer
    Brian Kuritzky

    hi all
    1. i would like to mention that you are all doing a great job

    2. it seems that by time this is thread is going to expand to a gigantic proportion. that's why i think you should consider a few cuts
for example: players who made Aliyah or have an ISR passport are not just Jewish anymore but 100% full Israelis. second i don't think you should mention every Jewish player who plays in a remote amateur club but rather only the significant ones - in order for that to happen you have to set certain criterias for players to enter the list
btw is would be much easier to follow any changes each time since significant players from significant clubs tend to be covered more often

    3. it seems that some of the information on this thread is inaccurate (teams, player spelling etc..) maybe it would be a good idea to give a link next to each player which would function as the source of information or if you arr not sure plz note it

    4. you should separate between youth players and pro's since they are hard to follow plus the information fiven in the thrad can be misleading

    5. here are few remarks on some of the players according to my list:

Daniel de Ridder (NED/ISR) - Wigan Athletic (ENG) - should be taken off the list since he is an Israeli
Paul Kurrant and Jonathan Kurrant seems to me to be the same person. in any case i could not find any clue of them playing now for Wigan's nor Aberdeen's first team
Daniel Revivo - Toronto Lynx (CAN) (accordong to wikipedia)
Ariel Seltzer - ineligible for emegration under the terms of the law of return (accordong to wikipedia)
Sam Sloma - Grays Athletic (ENG) (accordong to wikipedia)
Dor Yasur (ISR/GUA) - Palm Beach Pumas (USA) (accordong to wikipedia) should be taken off the list since he is an Israeli
Steven Lenhart - jewish accordong wikipedia might be the son of tamir lenhart who used to play for Hapoel Tel Aviv and imigrated to the US
Andriy Oberemko - FC Illychivets Mariupol (accordong to wikipedia)
Danil Gridnev - FC Anzhi Makhachkala (RUS)
    Benjamin Benditson -
Graham Albert - according to wikipedia he still plays for Virginia Legacy (USA)
Paul Hakim - St. Albans City (ENG)
Michael Erush - Hollywood United (USA)

    6. here are few additions to the list
    Diego Placente
(ARG) - San Lorenzo (ARG) - his wife is jewish
Vladimir Granat (RUS) - Dynamo Moscow (RUS)
Artyom Fidler (RUS) - FC Ural Sverdlovsk Oblast (RUS) (accordong to wikipedia)
Dougie Freedman (SCO) - Crystal Palace F.C. (ENG) - (accordong to wikipedia)
Ross Fishbain (USA) - unknown - last played in new hampshere college
Matt Reiswerg (USA) - unknown - used to play in the A-league before ot came to an end.trains college gaolkeppers in the present but still young to play for a club (27)

    7. there are numerous players who were mentioned in the thread but somehow do not appear here - I've seen a slight discussion
about them but seems not to be satisfying

    8. if you will browse in wikipedia you will easily find hunderds of jewish players (by last name). particulary in USA, Russia and Argnetina and all can be added to the list

    9. jewish players who were target for clubs in israel (the names maybe innacurate since they were published on hebrew):

    Aharon Solodocho אהרון סולודוצ'ו
    Jerome Degrest ג'רום דגרסט
    Ryan West ריין ווסט
    Ben Benbidsan בן בנבידסאן
    Assidorno Neon אסידורנו נאון
    Johan Abrilla
    יוהן אברילה

    more to come later...

    Thank you.

I don't feel as though it has gotten to big yet. I originally took off players who now play in Israel, but I wanted to compare the amount of Jewish players per country so I kept them on. It also helps for next year since it is a Maccabiah year and it is interesting to see how great the countries could be if all their Jewish players participated.

There are very few youth players in the thread. We keep them in so that we don't forget about them should they mature into quality players.

Steven Lenhart is the son of Gary Lenhart, so we still have no proof as to whether he is a member of the tribe. Israelis like Dor Yasur and Tomer Chencinski I leave on because only their parents are Israeli. Thanks for the updates on the clubs.

Matt Reiswerg is retired. Do you have written proof for any of these guys? I read the Jewish Chronicle from the UK every now and then and have never seen Dougie Freedman in it, and they are very good with following Jewish players in the UK.

    Like who?

Wikipedia has tons of misinformation. If they don't cite a source, I don't list them. It isn't nice to just make people Jewish because of their name.

Ben Benbidsan is Benjamin Benditson. I figured this out from the facts that they gave about him playing once for the Galaxy. I can't seem to find the names of the clubs that the other guys play(ed) for.

On wiki it says one of his grandfathers was Jewish. I don't know if that makes Beckham Jewish, though.

Juan Pablo Sorin has been released by Hamburg! I bet that there are some Israeli clubs that have put in bids for his services. Sjaak Polak will be signed by Maccabi Tel Aviv, I can't imagine that they would take two left backs, but Polak can play in the midfield and I think so can Sorin. Besides, if Maccabi were such Zionists, they would sign both of them so that they both settle and retire in the Jewish state!

    MOST IRONIC THING EVER:

Guess which team Sorin chose to try out first... before all his fame...Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv...and they rejected him.

Haifa can use someone like Sorin now :(

Or anyone else that doesnt have a name like Andre , Renatinho , Rafa , etc...
