UNDER 20 PUERTO RICO LOOKING GREAT SO FAR FROM THE LOOKS OF IT!! Hay que velar el el sub-20 masculino. Se esta formando un equipo para ganarle a Jamaica y competir con cualquiera. Además de Cabrero hay un buen grupo de jugadores de mucho talento en Puerto Rico como Pito, Pacheco, Jason, Sandoval, Fiol, Riego, ...y muchos otros que no sé el nombre. Hay cerca de 15 puertorriqueños o hijos de puertorriqueños que vienen de E.U. a try-outs del 20 al 27 de junio en Country Club. Vienen Anthony Vazquez de St.Johns University(tambien está en la selección grande de P.R.), Fernando Gonzalez Freshman becado en University of South Florida(empezó en 17 juegos), Eduardo Jimenez que lo acaba de becar Villanova, Steven Ehrichs de Hofstra, Jerry Luna (becado por Cal State Fullerton). Muchos son jugadores de ODP de estados, ODP de Region y uno que ha estado en el u-15 National Team y u-17 national pool team. Entre los puertorriqueños de aquí y los de allá va a haber un trabuco para representar a Puerto Rico y ganar.Los de allá ya hacen planes para quedarse con sus abuelos y hermanos que viven en Puerto Rico. Es bien interesante ver como agradecen la oportunuidad de tratar de representar a Puerto Rico y de poder venir a la isla a reunirse con sus familias. Como la Federacion tiene las manos llenas con Honduras y el Femenino que ya pasó esta etapa cualificatoria, un grupo de voluntarios trabaja junto a Serralta para lograr el viaje de este equipo. El único interés es que Puerto Rico cualifique al Mundial. El Staff técnico de Fluminense aceptó la encomienda hasta las eliminatorias de Gran Caiman y se estableció el siguiente plan de trabajo: Pretemporada-periodo inicial: 2 a 7 de junio (Country Club) Pretemporada-periodo de puesta a punto: 9 a 20 de junio (Country Club) Llegada de jugadores de E.U. y "try-outs": 27 de junio de 2008 Pretemporada-trabajos específicos del fútbol (físico-técnico, táctico y psicológico): - 27 de junio hasta al 6 de julio en Country Club. Del 6 de julio al 16 de julio en Salinas (Entrenamientos de mantenimiento y acoplamiento). Descanso para el grupo: 17 de julio Viaje: 18 de julio Este "schedule" puede variar ya que el primer juego es el 23 y no el 21. Buscamos patrocinio. Went last night for the PRSL inaugural celebration. I have to say I was impressed with the support that the league had. All thou it wasn't any 20000 fans or anything( it was more like 7000-9000 or so) it was really good. The people was pretty hyped and showed good support to the teams. I'm gonna keep an eye at River of course after watching their final last year and how well they played, Quintana with their strong heritage and the way people answered to them, Fluminense , can't wait to see what the brasileros bring to the table and of course Bayamon's Sevilla FC(Islanders B). It was definetely a good start. However the game it self was kinda uncontrolled at first. Playing always forward a bit agressive. The first goal was something wonderful, beautiful and gorgeous. A free kick coming from River that was worth being watch over and over again. Anyways, GREAT BEGINNING TO AN ERA OF PUERTORICAN FUTBOL AND GLAD TO BE WITNESS OF IT!
Question guys since the new league is name the "Puerto Rican Soccer League" does that mean that Puerto Ricans say "soccer" instead of saying "futbol" or "football"? Or why not "Lgia de futbol Puerto Rico" or something like that. Why did they go with such a angloize version for the league's name? More questions... is this going to be PR's 2nd division league? And will there be any broadcast on TV and radio?
The only thing I can answer is that people call it futbol and balompie here in pr and to a lesser degree soccer. I cant answer anything else cause I dont know.
If you look ate that picture theres atleast four senior Islanders players Cabrera, Ojeda, Delgado and Myers, also has national team striker Figueroa. All this players are in quality superior to most players in this league.

It's a joke that Caguas' logo looks exactly the like the Sevilla PR one. I've read various Sevilla forums and they're wondering if Caguas is also an affliate of the club since the shield is a blatant ripoff. I mean if they were going to ripoff some team's shield how about a team that's not already in the same league .

Esta noche el Sevilla FC Puerto Rico disputará, como digo, su primer partido de Liga, recibiendo al Caguas Huracán, un club que, curiosamente, se inspiró también en el Sevilla Fútbol Club a la hora de elaborar su escudo, pero que no guarda relación alguna con nosotros. La inauguración tendrá múltiples sorpresas entre estas, música salsa en vivo, con el Grupo Guarachando, clases de salsa gratuitas cortesía del Municipio y su Academia de Baile, “Bayamón Ciudad Salsera” a cargo del profesor Dickie Colon. WAPA America had 2 games on this weekend involving teams from the new Puerto Rican Soccer League. Friday's game was San Juan v Ponce and Sunday's game was ACA Quintana v Humacao. Does anyone know if this was a one time thing or will WAPA America continue to broadcast additional games on Sundays at 10 AM Central time?

I doubt they have any but you can try getting on an plane and going to a local game for each one of the teams
