I sometimes wonder if supporters like Sebas get more joy out of their team's victory or Barcelona's shortcomings. I mean, they just won the Copa Libertadores for crying out loud - yet it still seems necessary to mention Barcelona??

Just enjoy the victory. Focus on the happiness. Focus on the win. Focus on the Ecuadogs. Don't step on people's hearts.

We all know that, Sebas...and that is why you are not a true football fan! You are in it for all the wrong reasons and your post just proves it!

Don't bother coming back until you have something intelligent to say...

    Hermanos....QUE PARTIDAZO

I have rarely experienced so many extreme emotions in one game. Extreme joy to extreme nervousness to extreme anger to extreme sadness...then back to extreme JOY!!!

    Here, as always, my comments:

    1. Before going to Getafe, Guerron should go to China to give Ecuador a gold medal in the 100-yard dash. My lord this man is fast! Did you see that last break where the defender got red-carded? All I saw was a white and black flash zooming across the screen. I don't care if he screws up a pass now and then - his speed and strength alone require man-marking, which opens up space for the forwards and other midfielders. He must be the tournament MVP.

    2. Bolanos has proved his value once again, the guy is a clutch player. Keep in mind this is the guy that has scored 3 of the 4 away goals that Liga has scored in the knockout rounds (against Estudiantes, America, and Flu). Not only that, they were the first goals of the game. I can't say it enough, this guy has it all - strength, speed, smarts, and instint for goal. European clubs -open your eyes!! Crismerz do you know anybody at B. Dortmund?!

    3. Again set pieces were Liga's downfall. The 2nd and 3rd goal should never have happened (by the way guys there is no offsides on a throw-in, I wish Liga knew that last night:mad:). I blame Cevallos and Calle for not organizing the defense properly. Calle in particular seems to lack the authority and consistency that is needed in that position, I would consider different options for next season (where is Jorge Guagua?).

    4. The 3rd goal is the only proof I can think of that Cevallos is not God. I think the 1st goal was a great shot, too fast to react. What a great way for Cevallos to cap off an amazing career. I see him as coach of the national team one day.

    5. Ambrossi had a particularly poor game. His lack of size/strength really show at this level. In Quito, he's a major threat because he surprises the opposing defenses. However, he's really a liability away from home, when we are mostly holding and countering.

    6. The commentators were not terrible, not particularly good either - I guess I'm getting used to having to listen to them. However, did you catch during the PK's, when the graphic showing the goals/misses said "Liga de Quito (MEX)"? I'm like "they wish!" It was fixed the next time the graphic appeared.

    7. Much respect for Fluminense - that is one HELL of a team. Those guys are monsters, skillful and fast, and did you see the power of their shots?! Beating a team like that makes winning the Copa even more special.

    8. LOL the red, white, and green confetti was classic :p. Makes me wonder if CONMEBOL should change the format of the final to follow the Champions' League, one match on a neutral site. It doesn't seem fair to have to play the extra time and penalties in a hostile stadium - at the end of the day Liga had 90 minutes in Quito but Flu had 120 in Rio. Plus it's kind of a bummer to lift the cup with 95% of the stadium empty.

    9. Man I wish I was in Quito right now.....

I just got back from Quito an hour ago. I have not slept since we won, i was wasted the whole night in Quito and hopped on the plane still buzzed. i too have never had the extremes of feelings all in one sit down. As a man, and a true fan I cried last night, mostly out of shock and disbelief that WE (ECUADOR) HAS FINALLY ACHIEVED THE COPA LIBERTADORES CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!! Me and my cousins could not stop screaming after that, jesus, it literally was the best night of my life. I bleed Liga through and through, I love that team and loved what they did this year. La Liga es grande, but most importantly, Ecuador eres grande, and all the Ecuadawgs are united today and forever under Liga's success, congrats to the country, to Quito, to us, and to Liga. I will post all my vids soon...

Guerron is the only confirmed player to leave. Hopefully we can keep most of the team. I just wish Guerron stayed just a bit longer.

It would have been a great stepping stone last season as they were a UEFA Cup team making it all the way to the semi's...now they are nothing but another mid table Spanish team with no international participation.

For How many Years is he going to be with Getafe? Guerron should have waited before signing a contract like so quickly.

I think he did the right thing.... being in a mid level La Liga team is still better than having been gone to Boca Juniors.... It gives him direct pass to any other European team of better caliber and experience playing in Europe.. something he won't get staying in South America.... Besides Getafe is not a bad team and has counted for I think 9 international players of talent... they are most defenitely ambitious and want to add to their great run they just had .. they lost the Copa del Rey to Sevilla, but they showed they could make it there and they made it to the semi finals of UEFA, those are worthy achievements, and it shows they want to keep building on that- who knows- if he does a good job there we might see him soon in Barce! ( I wish ) or some other giant like Inter Milan.

Better in Spain than still being at home or even in Argy soccer, where he might turned off future European suitors because of a very high price placed on him.

The problem is when he was sold there was no certainty that Liga would win the Cup. By selling him when they did, his agents basically made a bet that Liga would not win. If they had waited until now, they most likely would have gotten more, maybe a lot more, as the guy now has a major international trophy on his CV. So Getafe won the bet.

Manolo, I agree with you. Although Getafe is a good intro level club to start at, Liga sold him off too quickly and lost out on millions of Euros had they waited till the end of the Libertadores. Regardless of that fact, they still made money, still won the copa, and still have a competitive side. While Getafe got a major bargain on him, for Liga, the few million that they'll earn will far outshadow any other sale in the history of the club.

If Guerron shines, and I know he will at Getafe, he might be there for as little as two years before getting sold to an even bigger club.. Suerte to Getafe and to Guerron!!

Once again...I agree 100%. Summer transfers are happening now in Europe but for some reason, with ants in their pants, LDU reacted to the first European offer and jumped in bed with it!

Guerron is on a diffrent level. He disciplined himself to be where he is now. How many players in Libertadores did u see displaying a footwork like Guerron. He's not your ordinary shinning young player. He has is it all to be the best in the world. Guerron is Definately Manchester United Material. I could see him assist Ronlado if he gets better. Getafe? You are talking about two years of waisted schooling for Guerron. Let's hope this club can give him something. I'm sorry, Guerron is much to good for this club. It simply will not benifit him.

Oh and does Liverpool have Antonio Valenica?
