Joltin' Joe Zewe appears to be on trial with SC Pfullendorf in Germany: Beim Testspiel am Samstag gegen den TSV Crailsheim (14 Uhr in Pfullendorf) soll auch der 24-jährige US-Amerikaner Joseph Zewe von den Chicago Fire, der derzeit in Pfullendorf mittrainiert, eine Chance bekommen. I love hearing any kind of news on the whereabouts of former Nittany Lion players. So this club is in the Regionalliga Süd. How many divisions below the B1 is that?
Joe doesn't appear to have made the cut; the team named a couple more new signings on Friday, and he wasn't one of them.
Just stumbled upon an update on this guy: Joe Zewe is now on the roster for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL 2nd Division. There are some who might perceive that as a real step down from where he's been. http://www.riverhounds.com/roster.php?player=75 The USL team stats page shows that he's played in 7/11 matches this season and has 1 goal and 1 assist. http://www.uslsoccer.com/teams/2008/roster/8969532.html Pittsburgh is the worst team in the USL-2 so far this season. Quite a step down from a guy who once played with Viborg. I'm surprised he wasn't picked up by a USL-1 club, but football is a funny game. Anyone closer to the situation know what happened with Zewe?
hey all...proud Riverhounds FC supporter here just an update, and a question... Joe hasn't been in the lineup for months...not sure he's still in Pittsburgh so maybe he's overseas again on tryout...anyone have any news on his current whereabouts?
Nope, there is a new 3. liga. So it is: Bundesliga 2. Bundesliga 3rd Liga Regionalliga (North, South and West) Regionalliga Nord, covering the states of Brandenburg, Berlin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Sachsen-Anhalt, Thüringen, Sachsen, Niedersachsen, Schleswig-Holstein, Bremen and Hamburg Regionalliga Süd, covering the states of Bayern, Hessen and Baden-Württemberg Regionalliga West, covering the states of Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland and Nordrhein-Westfalen
hehe Almost, but quite not: Regionalliga divisions: The Regionalliga teams (SC Pfullendorf is the most southern based club, just north of the border to Switzerland). Btw: Funny name in english: Wormatia Worms!: And Germany after WWII: Combined German history and geography lesson ends for today (sorry, just got carried away).
