Anybody have any news of the match v Netherlands Antilles tomorrow (19th June) in USA? I read about it on the Netherlands Antilles Football Union site, and it mentioned it would be against Honduras national team, but this may be the U-23 team? Hodnuras U-23 will play Nigeria U-23 a few days after, so it could be the same team that is playing Netherlands Antilles.

"La seleccion Olimpica arranca su preparacion una vez terminado el torneo Clausura de la liga nacional y sus primeros amistosos son el 18 de Junio contra Antillas Holandesas en USA. Este partido se habia mencionado para la seleccion mayor pero no se ha confirmado.Para el dia 21 de Junio si esta confirmado el amistoso en Miami contra Nigeria."

rceveda.....u want samuel caballero to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....did u watch gold cup 2007 vs guadalupe...that was awwfull...if u didnt see it u could catch it on youtube.......anyways i dont think we should panic yet...just wait to the mexico game and then we can start analyzing our team...hell we probably didnt care that much vs puerto rico....if u look at our defense we are athletically great...we have to remember our back line is quite young and the more they play together the more confidence and intelligence theyll play with:D

Yes Pavon, Yes Sammy... those are players that know what to do with the ball, has Suazo or Rambito EVER scored 3, 4 goals in a game? AGAINST ANY TEAM??? lets be real here!!! I love my Legionarios and all, but la seleccion es la seleccion. Mexico has players abroad but they see the results from Borgetti and Cuau. Cuau is coming hence we need Sammy to stop him in his tracks. Stop dreaming that Muma is gonna stop him, hell Muma might give Mexico a PK!!!!

    I'm changing my starting XI

    D. Suazo---C. Pavon
    J.C de Leon---A.Guevara---W.Palacios---M. Suazo
    M.Figueroa---S.Caballero---H. Thomas---E.Alvarez
    N. Valladares

If they can get it together in time.

Honduras doesnt need to change the lineup, what it needs is a Shrink!

Hasnt anyone notice how we always fall on our face when we play a opponent who we're suppose to beat?

Let me run it down for you.

    World Cup 2006
1st game in the qualifying we beat Costa Rica (best in CA) 5-2 Then we tie against Guatemala, Costa Rica and Canada. Plus we lose against Guatemela.

    World Cup 2002
After a tough start we manage to beat T&T 4-2, Mexico 3-1,(lose to CR 3-2) USA 3-2, in that order.

(this hurts) Coming into the second to last game Mexico and Costa Rica tied 0-0, so we could come in 2nd place of the goup by beating the weakest team in the group T&T, who at the moment had 2 points. But of course we lose 1-0 on our own turf.

and instead of needing just a tie or a USA lost we needed a win and got raped by mexico 3-0

    World Cup 97
We get butchered by Jamaica and Mexico in the 1st round basically

    World Cup 94
Only one goes to the world cup and thats Mexico
our only win is against El Salvador at home and a draw 2-2 to Canada and we lose the other 4. ( how do we not beat Canada and El Salvador twice?)

and this is only the world cup qualifying, i dont even want to research Gold Cup and Concacaf cup.

Because at that point in time, El Salvador was not underperforming like it is today, and Honduras was not as talented as what it is now.

Pavon is the only thing ruining that lineup. Also, I agree with bringing Caballero since I believe we need a veteran in that inexperienced back line.

    we should still keep it
Muma figueroa Mendoza and either Guerrero, Izaguirre orGarcia in the back.

MIddle: Palacios, Guevara, Leon and Turcios ( and use Henry Thomas a lot, hes a good compliment in the defense)

Fowards: Suazo and i actually would like Walter Martinez instead of Costly. Suazo doesnt go a fight the ball in the midfield, thats not his style. So he needs Walter whos more of a ball fighter (ala Tyson Nunez) who can compliment Suazo.

I dont know anything on how Alvarez is doing anymore, he hasnt played all season and maybe Rueda knows something we dont.

But i do remember all the head ache he was for Mexico.

Me imagino que hablas de Welcome, Thomas va a jugar en el Wigan... yeah, he went for a trial at NE Revolution and bombed it misserably, they said he was physically weak, but technically great and with room for improvement. They said they were gonna stay in contact and maybe next season, they said he needs to gain weight...:p

Muma blows, he's hulking and impulsive... the negative stereotype of the Honduran footballer. I'm glad he ain't going to England, 'cause he is just going to sink our boat there

wouldn't mind seeing Erick Norales get a shot with La Mayor after the Olympics...He was impressive in the qualifying tournament. Does anybody know much about Astor Henriquez..describe what type of player he is and who you would compare him to.

I like the line-up with Thomas as a center-back but what if he has a standout year with Wigan as a defensive mid? did he ever play in the back for Olimpia? Against Mexico at Azteca would you put a more defensive line up on the field or would you go for it with goalscorers. I say go for it. we play better that way...especially against Mexico.

I hate the idea of hendry as center back he is a midfielder, that is his job, he played like that in Olimpia and was succesful. He is defensive minded but midfielder nonetheless just like yaya toure.

Welcome is not Welcome by me to motagua (yet) he has to go through the same camp peter crouch went to, for tall technically inept players, and maybe i will be happy.

BTW Hendry is gonna be sick in Wigan, I also strongly believe we can pull of some upsets in the olympics thanks to him, he is such a leader and has sooo much to offer. We beat serbia, tie with S.Korea, and Italy we can lose and i think even tie.

I'm glad we'll get to see how Thomas compares to other Premier league mids. I agree he is a leader and has the potential to become an absolute force. After watching him in the Olympic qualifiers, I was pleased by his overall performance but thought and still think he needs a little more polishing(which he'll get in England) i.e.. playing out of pressure and for some odd reason during the qualifiers he was obsessed with no-looking passing...probably just a fad he'll move away from as he matures. Ideally, I would love to see Thomas starting for the Mayor after the Olympics. hope he has a great tournament. Another player I would love to see start is Bonieck Garcia...I know he's raised his level of play but will he ever push Mendoza out of the picture. I've never been a big Mendoza fan but it seems he's becoming a regular in the starting eleven. When I first saw him he looked a little hefty and out of shape. I haven't been able to watch him the last couple of games and he doesn't get criticized like Muma or Osman do after bad games. Seems he's worthy of a spot. true?

i honestly dont think its the wrong lineup that we struggle. I think its we always get over confident.

I THINK ITS A HUGE PLUS THAT OUR GROUP IS SO TOUGH. AND IF WE MAKE IT TO THE NEXT ROUND, WE'LL PROBABLY PLAY MEXICO USA GUATEMALA, T&t WHICH WILL MAKE US PLAY BETTER
