C'mon, Folks. You're supposed to be UNBIASED. It's bad enough to have to listen to Max Bretos (after I got home and watched the match) through the entire slaughter of a match. Really, Max, do I need to hear about Becks broken heart about the Lakers loss to the Celtics? For Jaysus sakes, can you not ask the cameras to turn away from the home supporters section and just focus on one person and the visiting away fans??? We were there too, you know. Not that we want the publicity. We just want the rest of the people out there who might be watching to know that THERE ARE REAL SAN JOSE FANS HERE! I know it was a particularly bad night for our team but c'mon, LA this and Beckham that for the ENTIRE FREAKIN' MATCH? Come on!!!
Ah, you have that all wrong. The job of Fux Soccer Channel is to promote everything that has to do with the LA Galactoscum and its scum-butts. No consideration should be given to anything or anyone else, and that means any of the other MLS teams and their fans.
And I wouldn't forget an article Allen Hopkins wrote about the LA-SJ match at Spartan after Landycakes returned for the first time. This was the one with the 2-own goal thing. He wrote along the lines of us San Jose fans losing our team--I could not remember the exact words but for someone in the media it was a lopsided article with wishes for our team's transfer to Houston...I wish I could unearth it....
lol, i remember having a bit of an e-mail dialogue with Hopkins at the time about soccer pedigree. He asked me what rock i crawled out from under not to recognize the D3 college team who he played for. Then he went on to tell me he had Eric Wynalda in his blackberry and how Waldo called regularly asking for advice. Chris Sullivan is an upgrade but FSC commenators are by far the lamest you will find anywhere on TV.
There's nothing that says FSC has to be unbiased. It's an entertainment channel, not a news source. Their interest is to promote TV viewing of soccer and, frankly, there's nothing that the Quakes have that people in Anytown, USA would be interested in. We need to give them a reason to cheer for our side like they used to cheer for DC United before LA got Bex and Landycakes.
Fox is an LA-based company. Would it surprise anyone if people who work there tried to sneak in their own little biases? It happens both ways. I remember reading this old PlayStation magazine that was published up the peninsula. Every time they'd review a sports game, you'd see images of Bay Area teams in action. EA got the Giants broadcasters to do their baseball game. That's life. ******** Fox. Who cares?
I'm starting to doubt whether or not you even like this club. All you do is talk negatively about the club and its supporters. FSC is a nationwide station, it's not FSN bay area. So yes, they should be unbiased. I even get pissed when I'm watching a game and the commentators are biased for MY team. I hated the commentators for the 06 World Cup. They didn't say a thing about the opponents of the US all match.
