I was actually in Guadalajara last time for the game against Atlas and it's kind of funny to see how some of the comments here reflect the sentiment there.

Most of the people that I had the chance to talk to in Guadalajara, and some of the comments I've seen on Mexican internet forums really mirror this conversation so far. Legion (MX) tries so hard to be bad ass and mimic what Argentine barras do that they often start shit just for the sake of it.

The overall consensus seems to be that while Legion's contributions are appreciated and very much enjoyable, the bullshit that they generate is often not worth the hassle. After that game (a victory for Guadalajara) a group of Atlas kids were shot a few blocks from the stadium.

Also, while the Columbus debacle is fresh, if somebody translated Chivas' chants for MLS I think there'd be a serious issue. The amount of racist / homophobic content in Legion's chants is troubling.

Yeah, I'm generalizing a bit but for once I would like to see the Korean Americans be the troublemakers at sporting events in the LA area.

lol u all make me laugh!
u ask why we fight with the "union ultras"
well i was there when all the beef started. it started en the classico when a member of the ultras punched one of the member of the legion in the bathroom at the HDC! so we retaliated! why did we? because we dont take crap from anyone! so they went looking for him and i do not know wat happed after that, all i know is that he went to cry to the chivas front offices like a little baby! saying that the legion member had started it! now if they hit one of your friends would u not go defend them? see u guys *(ultras) dont like us because we are better then u in every way! we are louder, we have more numbers, we have more passion then u will ever have! we have better everything!
u say we arent faithfull where were the ultras in 2005? huh?
someone tell me that? when the team was down i dont remember seeing any ultras on the other side of the stadium!
u guys complain about violence look if u arent willing to fight for your team then u dont really love them! are u willing to fight for your mother? for your gf/wife? yes cuz u love them? are u willing to fight for your team?? think about that? soccer is violent! think about it! every country in the world has fans that fight! u have russian hooligans, english hooligans, korean, indian, african, barras bravas in souther and centeral america! why note here? the mls and the support groups in the mls would not be were they are if it werent for the legion! i remember when the smoke was thrown on the field and member from other suupport groups were giving us props! why cuz thats the kind of passion they wish they had!
so stop crying and complaning if u have a problem with wat im saying
please feel free to come and tell me the next chivas usa game!

You're an idiot. <Mod edit, yeah I know the bad words in spanish?> Soccer isn't violent. Dumb********s are violent. Stupid ass little kids that wish they could play and think that mistake the jumping of other fans as passion, are violent. Montoneros, fake-ass gangsters, and dumbshits that have nothing better to do are violent. Its people like you that give the Legion and Barras generally bad names. Its people like you that keep soccer from being as popular as it could be in this country. Does it make you feel like a bad-ass when you and 5 of your friends beat up a rival fan? Do you feel cool because you take someone's scarf or shirt? That makes you a real man? Lol. You're a joke.

if that doesn't personify the naco mindset, i don't know what does.

to answer the naco's question . . . no i am not willing to fight for my team, nor should any decent person. does that make me a whimp, not even close. does that make me afraid or less of a fan? no. it just shows that i am civilized. this post is a perfect example of what is wrong with sports today.

btw, LARS (and all other supporter groups) were strong before la legion got involved with the MLS, and will be long after la legion stops being involved with the MLS. reason being, once the MLS realizes that this kind of mindset is bad for the league, don't expect to be welcome in the stadium.

Though I could care less what happens with you two SG, I just want to ask one question...

Your friend/fellow member could not handle himself against a union ultra in the bathroom? So since he got his ass handed to him he went crying to his friends/fellow members to go retaliate against "him"? As you put it "they" went looking for him... why didn't you go? What happen with the "we" mentality you portray? This is gonna be a great book/movie someday. Funny but great.

responding to a post is not starting shit. i regularly post in this forum and read my posts, i am not a touble starting troll. but if i read the kind of ignorance that this fool put up, i am going to say something because it has no place in the MLS or sports in general.

    This thread is awesome.

It also proves everyone's worst opinions about the situation and for anyone to deny there is a "problem" is pretty much the same as saying the world is flat.

IIRC the shooting happened in La Colonia Miravalle which is not anywhere close to where Estadio Jalisco is. the wife's family lives in Miravalle and we've been there at least once a year for a week at a time.

That's the excuse FMF used to wash their hands in the matter, and that's exactly makes the point an even more troubling one. This "barra" mentality went beyond far beyond the vicinity of the stadium.

I'm not sure about that. they have come hard on some SG's in Mexico in the past. it could've been just some drunks driving by the Atlas fans. Also, you made this comment...

I'm not a big Chiva fan but I believe La Legion has a non-violence clause in their Charter. and I haven't heard any news about fights involving their SG in Mexico.but I could be wrong.

I guess you dont read mexican newspapers and you havent been to Mexico for more than a week. Guadalajara is a ********ing war zone between The Chivas and Atlas SG's. I was there for a month last year got into one fight and I also got jumped by 3 barra 51 cowards.

If that's the way your group thinks I hope they don't let you guys back in the stadium. We don't need that kind of fan in Soccer period.

It's good to vent, just don't take it to a violent level. Hopefully, this feud will end and both groups can focus on Chivas USA and not call each other out.

to answer the 'homies' question, i am here because i feel like being here; i am just saying something that needs to be said.

hey 'homie', riddle me this . . .

if you take issue with what i say, tell me where i am wrong in calling that guy out? if i was not a G's supporter, would you question anything in my post? btw, yes i do post in the G's and CA forum.

i am not calling this guy out because i am a G's fan, i am calling this guy out because most of all i am a parent and a family man. i witnessed first hand la legion people thowing bottles, cans, etc at G's supporters. am i mad because it was G's supporters getting hit? no . . . i am mad because a toddler was almost nailed in the head with a full can of beer. if it had been G's doing it to CUSA supporters i would be just as vocal against whomever did it.

this should not be about club or group loyality, it should be about right and wrong.

    period.

funny how you make fun of my "homie" reference when you yourself call your team the "G"'s lol...

look "G" or "homie" i appreciate the fact that youre against violent MLS SG's...just dont go off saying that your "Quiet Squad" has never done or said anything violent towards a rival or fellow "G"'s SG...cuz they have..dont kid yourself ...

my reference of G's is just an abbreviation . . . nothing more. second of all, i can say without a doubt i have never seen anyone from LARS get violent on anyone. matter of fact, the only reason that an all out battle didn't breakout last september is because the people in LARS are not into physically fighting for our team. and spare me the 'your just afraid' speech . . . people who are afraid rank and run; that is not something we did. we stood the ground and protected the little guys from getting swarmed.

so let me understand you . . . please tell me what can be said that is violent? are you one of those legion members thinks funny chants and witty humor should be countered by punches and not words? per that logic am i supposed to punch someone everytime i hear 'pub team' or 'gaylaxy'? give me a break, because i will never do that. if that makes me less of a fan (in someone'e eyes, so be it).

bottom line, everyone knows that la legion are punks. i say it here and i stand for that anywhere i am. i have always been very clear that i am anti-legion. they are not about soccer, they are not about supporting a team, they are about punking people when they have numbers . . . and nothing more.

    thanks homie.

V.S. PLEASE... THIS IS NOT A GRAMMAR CLASS.

WE SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON THE REAL ISSUE. AS A FORMER MEMBER OF THE LEGION, I CAN TELL YOU THAT IF THE LK WANTS TO MAKE A STATEMENT, NOBODY WILL STOP THEM.
I JUST HOPE THEY BRING ALL OF THEIR MEMBERS AND BE LOUDER THAN USUAL BECAUSE OUR TEAM NEEDS ALL THE SUPPORT, SPECIALLY AGAINST THE CHICAGO FIRE AND "EL CUAU".
