You've got a point, but Leo did switch things in the last minute by putting in Roger who didn't even play with the NT during qualifiers. I guess we will just have to wait and see
i had bigger issues with Engel leaving the players that he left behind for the last WC then i do with Leo and who he's leaving behind now i also think that we had an easier group in the WC then we do now i'm willing to give Leo some leeway on his decisions and not b!tch too much about them, he's done something special by getting us to the EURO where even our best teams from the 70s and 80s did not go to be honest i also think that it will be three games and Okecie for the team, anyway that's what my brain is telling me... so i'm gonna have to drown it in good Polish vodka and listen to my heart for the next couple weeks!!
Blaszczykowski's injury sends him home Beenhakker want to replace him with Piszczak http://www.sport.pl/sport/1,90858,5284088,Blaszczykowski_do_domu__Beenhakker_sciaga_Piszczka.html
wouldn't this mean that Smolarek would move to the wing and Zurawski would be pushed up and Roger starting behind him or just a straight swap with Lobodzinski for Kuba
definitely Lobo, Leo loves Lobo... who called Lobo starting right-mid? thats right... ME i didn't know whether or not Kuba was healthy or not, apparently he wasn't
IF it is the same Lobo that we saw against the Czechs, we'll be fine, that's like 85% Kuba. Then again, Kuba against Portugal in that first match was absolutely amazing....what a blow! A strange idea, but could Roger replace Kuba in the right mid spot instead of Lobo? Nahhh....it probably wouldn't work.
Either way, my excitement for the tournament just waned somewhat. I think Kuba's absence will be felt big-time.
if Krzynowek was out then Roger could fill in for him... but I don't think Roger will play the right flank, i think Leo will only use Roger as a spark off the bench OR if need be which in this case it is not "need be" personally i don't like Lobo, i don't see what other Wisla people see in him. i loved Kosowski and to have him replaced by Lobo i was first p!ssed, then i was disappointed because i heard great things about Lobo and how Leo loves him with the National Team. SO i figured i'd give Lobo a chance and to be honest I am not much impressed with him. i love Kuba, but with his injury i figured Leo wouldn't hesitate to start him if Kuba was out. one less question mark now for Poland, the only one left is who plays left back now? ------------------------Boruc--------------------- --Wasilewski------Bak--------Żewłakow----???????-- -------------------Dudka-------------------------- --------------------------Lewandowsk------------- --Łobodziński--------------------------Krzynowek-- -----------------Smolarek------------------------- ----------------------------Zurawski--------------
After reading Leo's comments on sport.pl, I think Wawrzyniak is shoe-in for the left back position As to Kuba's loss, I spent the entire afternoon at work dropping f-bombs but injuries are a huge part of a tournament (this year alone, Babel, Cannavaro, Van Persie, Eduardo) and as dynamic of a player Kuba is for us, we still have to rely on the collective strength of our club... As of right now...I think Lobo will take the right wing spot.... it's not the end of the world....Kuba is no Ronaldo (yet).....all 11 guys need to play well.... it would have been nice to see a little one on one dribbling in the middle with Roger and Kuba at the same time...
sorry for numbering your post but you had so many things i wanted to touch base on 1---thats who i figured would have filled in as well for the injured Bronowicki... good call 2---dude... so did i, i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw the news at work. 3---i think injuries are inevitable with such a physical game as footy... its unfortunate that it was Kuba of all people... you wish no one ever gets injured but you would wish it would be someone of lesser importance to say the least if any 4---of course he isn't all-world yet, but Kuba is a lot better than Lobo... hopefully Lobo steps up and this is his coming out party at this Euro because then Wisla would be able to benefit in the long run with Lobo's progression. but if both were fit i would take Kuba 9 times out of 10 over Lobo 5---yea, some pretty, creative football from Poland would be amazing
Yeah I agree. Kuba may be on-and-off with BvB Durtmund, but he's one of the most critical players on our NT. He will be sorely missed.
Now, as many suspected we would, we've lost Tomek Kuszczak due to injury. He'll be replaced by Wojciech Kowalewski. Not that big of a deal, since the pecking order was quite established and Tomek was the third keeper for this tournament, but still, the injury problems lead to a question: was the pre-tournament training too hard?
hopefully Leo will have these boys ready if it is that tough... i'm figuring it isn't a matter of how difficult or fatiguing it is... its a matter of who will make it through and if they do they will be more than prepared for the Euro... only the strong will survive AND if that is how it is, then i don't mind some players being weeded out... but the Kuba and Bronowicki sort of hurt them not being ready
It's hard to say but my inclination is "no." Injuries are a huge part of any tournament, especially when players come off their respective season campaigns with their clubs....and who knows who will be available for Austria and Croatia?...red cards, yellow cards - are also issues in a tournament....all of the squads will have similar questions.... With Brono - he was battling that injury for two months....Kuba...hamstring problems have been bothering him all season...and Kaczmarek made a good point.....how does a 22 year old players suffer so many injuries? especially, considering that he plays for a big club like BVB where the medical and training staff should be top class, Kuba shouldn't be exclusively seeing a specialist in Poland for treatment (all these rumors about his injury not flaring up - and reports that on Thursday he was 100% at practice...are a little suspect - was there a row between Leo and Kuba?) as with Kuszczak - I think his back injury was a fluke....I think he injured his back due to a bad fall....
Of course Polish and German pseudo-fans clash again.... http://www.sport.pl/sport/1,90858,5289568,Polsko_niemieckie_starcie_kibicow_w_Klagenfurcie.html
