I think that Germany has the best chance to win it this year. i think that they have the most talent overall, but i do think that Spain will also have a very good chance of pulling it off as well

I went with Portugal, but I'm alright with anyone but the Italians winning it all...

"there seem to be lots of people who think the same way you do
I honestly don't see why but I am French so I might not be completly objective here"

I've always liked a great deal of French players and found them really classy, but can't stand Domenech. The guy has absolutely no class. Some of the comments he made after (and even before) the world cup about Italy final were disgraceful. I don't take it personally though, he seems to treat some of the French players with the same lack of respect. Not even considering Trezeguet due to personal reasons, when he's having by far the best season of any French forward except Benzema for example. Nothing against the French team or their people, but I don't want to see that man achieve any success.

I'd have to say on paper Spain look to be the favorites, there's so much talent in that team. I don't want to write them off for being perennial chokers, I think it'd be good for the game if they won this tournament.

I still feel Germany is slightly overrated. They had one of the easiest qualifying groups, and even though they played well at the world cup keep in mind that it was at home. Their 2 standout players from that tournament, Klose and Podolski, along with many of their promising youngsters have taken a bit of a step back this season, especially Podolski. Ballack has recently hit his old form so that's a definite plus, but I can't see them making it past the semis though. I just think Italy, France, Spain, even Portugal are all stronger teams.

Spain, and Netherlands are always choking and people continue to list them as their favourites for winning these tournaments.

FINAL FOUR: Italy, France, Germany, Portugal(same semi-finalists of the 2006 world cup)

I support Germany and I see a lot of people see them as having a good chance. But being a supporter I am also aware of a lot of the teams problems:

    1) Lahm thinks he is a better right back than left back which is simply not the case. When I have seen him play he is half the player.
    2) Jansen is frequently lax on his defensive duties for Bayern and he can be a liability.
    3) Lehmann is missing match practice and has looked rusty.
    4) Schweinsteiger, Klose and Podolski have all had dodgy form recently.
    5) I think Ballack is overrated.

I think Germany have a good overall team but all of the aforementioned troubles could undo us against quality opposition.

ppl talk about portugal's lack of a top class striker but dont forget Ronaldo is the player who scored the most goals including top scorer in EPL and champions league. he wont get the same freedom he does at man united bu im sure he will come up with a nice goal tally (I predict 5-7 if Portugal go deep) in the euro which will help us out alot in the striking department

I could see any of these teams doing it except Greece (don't think they could pull off the repeat), I say Germany, Italy, France... would be my picks, and yes in that order!

Well, after seeing the last matches against tough contenders like Italy or Greece, I don't think Portugal can go too far this time. For me even worse than not having a world class striker, is not having a "team". It's just a bunch of skilled players all trying to prove they are better than their partners. Who can get past more defenders, etc... Any solid team will give us a bad time.

It's difficult to choose a probable winner, cause Euro champ. it's like 2 different competitions, if you get thru first phase to the knockout phase, everything resets & bets are off. Anyone can have a bad day or match goes for penalites & there goes a favorite.

but since we have to chose something, I would say Italy (not because they are WC) their defense is allways top class & IMHO it's defense that wins this short competitions.

PS: btw, playing at home is still an very important edge. Maybe not Austria but Switzerland can shock some ppl.

hey magalhaes1976, what you write there,
you think that portugal isn´t good enough, i don´t think so,

cause portugal is for me with espana the strongest team, when we look at
    the technique!
cause portugal is for me with espana the storngest team, when we look at
    the dribblings!

when i look at portugal´s team list:

    Ricardo

    Carvalho
    Miguel
    Pepe
    Meira
    Ferreira
    Bosingwa

    Deco
    Cristiano Ronaldo
    Quaresma
    Simão
    Nani
    Moutinho
    Meireles

    Nuno Gomes
    Hélder Postiga
    Almeida

    hey magalhaes1976,
sorry but i see only quality, when i look at portugal´s team list,
so why do you think that portugal isn´t a team:confused:i meen damn boy:cool:do you need some glasses?
