Its easy, having 2 sides of family from 2 different countries and you getting attached to those teams from those countries.

Even though my Brazilian family are Flamengo fans, I became a fan of Sao Paulo because my closer family members live there and every time I went to Brazil I would go to Sao Paulo and quickly became attached to the team.

I'm a fan of Olimpia because my Paraguayan side of the family are all Olimpia fans so I was brought up with Olimpia.

Those are my 2 main teams and then Flamengo, because obviously my family and I grew up loving the team.

What I really don't get it is people that become "fans" of big European teams just because their good or people that become "fans" of a certain team just because one of their NT team players plays there.

It's kinda sick seeing US fans became "Benfica fans" all of a sudden just because Freddy Adu went there for example when I can bet a good number of them didn't even know anything about Benfica before that.

I may like a few European teams such as Valencia and Inter but I could really care less about any other team besides my 3 favorites.

Hopefully Liga can make it today. It'd be nice to have some diversity in semis (Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador).

Yeah, I heard that organ too! Freaking ear soar! I don't even think MLS uses an organ to wake-up the crowds.

Don't count out Santos. I think that match-up is still 50/50, as are/were the other 3 quarterfinals after the first leg.

America has Cabañas. He's like the Chuck Norris of futbol. A complete team compressed into the physiology of a short, stoic man. I'm betting on him scoring at least one goal tonight, thus taking America to semis. :D

I completely agree with you. You got a legitimate excuse for your choices of teams. I only cheer for Flamengo. I'll sympathize with some other teams, but I won't make the efforts that I do with Fla to watch their games, I won't get hurt if they loss like when Fla does, etc. Whenever someone here asks me what my team is, they seem unsatisfied with my response. They immediately ask me for a European team and I tell them that I do not have one, I could care less about a European club. I have no reason to attach to a European club like I do with Fla.

    We shall see!

O/T. BTW, what did I say about Colo Colo? I know playoff systems bring in more money, but if you're gonna have one at least give an advantage to the team that had the better record during the league portion of the season. What a disgrace having Colo Colo advance on away-goals when they were 14 points worse than Nublense throughout the season. Tie-break should go to the team with the better record, not away goals.

True, you have a point. I'm still pissed off at Nublense for giving the game away like that but it'd be only fair if the team with the most points had the advantage in the tiebreaker, like you said.

Like I said, the small teams are the ones keeping the system. Even though Nublense is not going to the final, they still got extra revenue from ticket sales, TV, etc. and I think, sadly, that owners and presidents of these small teams value this more than achievements on the field. Well, at least they're going to Sudamericana and if they get enough points in the Clausura they could still qualify for Liberadores.

Oh well, as long Everton is not the champion I'll be happy. :D

    Wow! Nice try though Nuclear.

Atlas CHOKED! Plain and simple. Boca deserved to pass with Atlas playing like that. If Atlas would have passed and played either America or any other team (and would've played like they did yesterday) the outcome would of been the same or WORSE. I still think Riquelme is overrated, but hey thats me. If you don't think so or don't like it, then simply, KEEP IT MOVING. Hopefully America doesn't get the same result as Atlas.

And why would I not be back on this thread??? I'm not like some of the guys in this thread that only pop up when their team wins or when I talk about overrated Riquelme.

You'd think that after Roman made your midfielders look like a bunch of pre schoolers you'd be a little more modest. I mean christ, the man felt sorry for Marioni and Brindisi and decided not to humiliate your team further in the second half then what they had already undergone.

I can't believe Santos only has 1 vote. Are people really counting them out or are there just no Santos fans at all here?

Yeah, but Santos has also played poorly for the most part, except for Kleber Boas. They showed the poorest form of the Brazilian teams, so it is not surprising that they are last in votes.

Don't be so sure, from what I hear Santos is gonna be heavily marking him tonight.

"Salvador Cabañas uses a night light. Not because Salvador Cabañas is afraid of the dark, but the dark is afraid of Salvador Cabañas.

"Salvador Cabañas once kicked a horse in the chin. Its descendants are known today as Giraffes."

Go away. You have yet to contribute anything positive to this thread. Just a bunch of shit talking that later came to bite you in the ass. Not only that but you've been wrong about absolutely everything.

The thing is that we know these people will never learn. Roman could lead Boca to yet another Libertadores and next year we'll hear the same shit about how he's crap and how Boca is overrated, Mexican football rulz and blah blah blah.
