Maybe I'm just too cynical but what if Ole uses the club to get a jumpstart in his coaching career, leaves United and has success as a manager elsewhere then takes over Liverpool(the club he supported as a boy) and leads them to a new golden era? Wouldn't that be some twisted, messed up irony? I think I'd shoot myself in the head.
To anybody who is One United member/ST holder, appplications for tickets for Ole's testimonials starts on Tuesday, 10th June. Dunno about General Sale. i wish i wish i wish only way is if i hit that big lotto and then can quit my job and do all the traveling i want to do
FYI: The first 100 season ticket holders in the ticket office door tomorrow morning to buy tickets for the testimonial will be served by Ole himself.
chaz, this is how you get negged by isra.. back to topic, sdot, so did you get your tickets for this game? I am in 2 minds whether to make the trip or not. It is dependent on whether I can finish my current assignment in the next couple of weeks or not.
They haven't gone on general sale yet, and I'm slightly worried that they may not make it. I will be in Manchester regardless and will attempt to scalp one if necessary. If you were a member of One United from 07-08 you can put in an application now. I was from 06-07, but didn't renew as it didn't have much worth to me. Also, I'm sure the Juventus friendly is going to go the same way, so I'll have to be on my edge of the seat hoping for that one. If you're making a trip cr7, it's the perfect week - August 2 - Ole's Testimonial at OT August 4 - Friendly at London Road, Peterborough August 6 - Friendly against Juventus at OT August 10 - Community Shield at Wembley I'm going to attempt all 4, I already have the August 4th ticket and Community Shield tickets will be easily got on the day of.
Hey CR7 - One United memberships for 08-09 just opened up today, and I just emailed the club asking if 08-09 members will be able to apply for Ole's testimonial as well as the Juve game. If they say yes, I'll probably do it, as it would mean a lot better chance than general sale. Bex, if you see this and know anything about it, I'd appreciate it. The site's website for Ole's match said 07-08 One United members could apply, but maybe they haven't updated it since 08-09 became available. Thanks alot for your help.
Looks like Ole tickets may go on general sale on June 25th if they make it. Juventus tickets are also listed, though not yet on sale to anyone.
Nice Ole interview on Sky Sports this morning. Dunno if there's a torrent floating around or if it's on Youtube already, but it's worth a peek.
Thanks for letting me know, there'a an article on Soccernet this morning saying that Ole wants to go to top flight management eventually, AND still be at this club when he does - so he pretty much says he wants to manage here.
Ta for that Sdotsom! I may well be trying to get along to that game and maybe the Juventus one as well.
Same here - I'm really looking forward to my trip now, spending 4 days in Manchester seeing Ole's game and the Juve match, doing some cycling in the Peak District, seeing the Peterborough match, and then exploring London for a few days and maybe catching the Charity Shield. It's gonna be a blast. I was talking to someone on another forum, and in his opinion the Juve match is a dead cert to go to general sale, as its a night match. For Ole's game, there's a pretty good chance, only because the prices are kind of high.
Tickets for the game are now on General Sale. Just got mine for the South Stand. It was pretty dear, I can only imagine that the reason the tickets made it to general sale was because people in Manchester didn't want to pay 30 pounds for a match ticket.
Yeah, I thought it was going to open up at 8 am BST tomorrow, so I had planned on staying awake till 2 am tonight to buy them. But when I popped on the site, they were already available. I'm really really lookin forward to this one. Taking the train up from London, getting into Manchester around 11 am, dropping my stuff off at the hostel, then promptly getting some beers and heading down to OT chanting about how shite Shearer is. Can't wait.
I have no idea what we are doing for the game. I think we might just drive down for the day but everything depends on work. I'd love to get there early for some drinks.
