How many CONCACAF coaches have made it big in Europe or South America, anyone know:confused: I rate Aguirre very highly not only for producing an attractive team in 2002, but because he gained positions at Osasuna and Atletico Madrid(something very rare for our region.)

Mexico's greatest ever coach and my vote for Concacafs greatest ever coach is Ignacio Trelles. the man as a coach won 7 championships in Mexico. he won it with marte, 2 with zacatepec, 2 with toluca, and 2 with cruz azul. unlike today where there are 2 tourneys a year Trelles acheived the titles back when it was one long tourney a year making his accomplishments much more impressive.

Best ever CONCACAF coach? Bora Milutinovic. He took 3 CONCACAF teams past the first round.

Mexico 1986 - Mexico ended up quaterfinalists as hosts

Italy 1990 - Costa Rica ended up in the second round becoming the first CONCACAF team to do so in European soil since Cuba in France 1938.

USA 1994 - USA ended up in the second round as hosts

I have to disagree with you. Mejia Baron pretty much continued doing what Menotti started. He inherited Menottis team and not to mention he chocked big time against Bulgaria.
If your going by tittles alone than El Ingeniero de la Torre has him beat.
He won 5 league tittles 2 copa mexicos and a shit load of Campeon de campeones.
I have to agree with Bora being the best Concacaf Coach ever.

If Menotti counts than I would give it to him, but I know he was only Mexico's coach for a little but he did change Mexicos soccer history.

Campeon de Campeones are worthless. even Pavel Pardo said that. Trelles won 7 Long Season Tournament trophies. you can't fvc k with that. besides i'm sure he also won campeon de campeones titles Trelles number one.

i say coaches from non concacaf countries should not count.

Campeon de Campeones in the time of la Copa Mexico were not worthless. The current one is though.
