No way Falcao is over Suazo. Falcao has one thing over Suazo and that's the aerial game, but thats it. In everything else Suazo is his match or way better. I think that if Suazo learns to be a bit more consistent he is better than all those strikers.

As much as Mexicans tend to overrate their teams and their league, it is also true that Argentines and Brazilians tend to underrate them. Santos better show up, because as bad as America has played this year, there is talent in that team, and they are not going to be an easy matchup.

That's true. Don't forget that Tena (America's coach at the time) was stupid enough to send the backups to the backups to play that game, basically throwing away the game. Nonetheless, they were competitive in that game all the way to the end. This Santos' team doesn't impress me either. When Chivas played them they were producing scoring opportunities at will.

And my argument is built on my expectation that Santos WILL show up. They contended for the 2007 Brasileirao (granted their 2nd place finish was 15 points behind my SPFC) but they were always in the race. They lost in the 2007 Libertadores semifinals after going 6 for 6 in the opening round, and they have an experienced coach.

Perhaps Santos will not advance; I believe they will. But you can bet they will not underestimate America - even though they eliminated America last year.

I expect Santos to advance. I don't think they have a good enough team to win it all though. They are probably the weakest of the Brazilian sides in this year's Libertadores.

The schedule for the Quarter finals has been released.

    http://www.conmebol.com/articulos_ver.jsp?id=62107&slangab=S

Good thing is that they didn't mess it up like they did with the first leg of the round of 16.

Of course there being less matches to be played it's easier to make a proper schedule.

Indeed they are. Falcao tends to drop a little deeper. Another point to keep in mind, as well is that Falcao is hurt more often than not.

Falcao is better. But as somebody said, he is too injury prone. If he stays healthy he can have a bright future.

    Big news,

Vasco Da Gama is after Salvador Cabanas, Vasco's president said "That he will do whatever it takes" to sign Cabanas.

I expect alot of teams to be after Cabanas for the summer transfer.

Wont happen....America will not let him go....big foreign stars in Mexico usually never leave, they stay in Mexico....plus I doubt any Club in the Americas will pay him more than Club America.(well exept maybe MLS but I dont think he wants to retire just yet:D)

There is a player missing he was 2007 Golden Boot of the Americas with 26 goals and has better gol/90 average than Suazo, Cabañas, and Vuoso in the Mexican League.

    Giancarlos Maldonado

I have Suazo and Cabañas higher than Palermo just for the fact that these players expecially Suazo create their own goals/goal opportunities.

LOL, gotta be easy to have TWO teams... especially when one of them just went through possibly the biggest "papelon" in its history, at HOME, to a team many mock for having not one Libertadores title in its history, and with 2 more players.

    We'll see, ElMuneco... we'll see.

Both games should be exciting. Especially since both clubs will probably be fighting for the Brasileiro championship all year. But I'll give you guys the slight advantage on defense seeing that Thiago Silva is out for a couple of weeks. But for offense, I gotta go with Flu. With Washington, Conca, Thiago Neves, and even Cicero on the field, that's a pretty good attack. Not too mention there's Dodo returning from injury.

Atlante is absolutely nothing without Giancarlos Maldonado. I would definitely put him in the top five in America.

Blaming refs is the lamest way to take a defeat. I mean common, your team already showed they dont have the balls to play. As a fan show you do and accept they messed up, nothing to do with the reff. Every single team, every single fan, can mention bad calls against its team, and trust me, argentinian and brazilian teams always get the benefit of the doubt.

Still don't know why we let Kleber go. Think about it:

    Kleber + Cabanas = :)

If Thiago Silva is out, that's a huge loss for Fluminense. The guy is a monster.

Final Eight: Who will win Copa Libertadores

Ok, we had a poll earlier asking who was going to win Copa Libertadores. The two teams that got the most votes (Colo Colo and Chivas Guadalajara) are out. So, let's get real. Who is going to win it?
