Please note that these thoughts are completely my own and without influence (now please pass me the Kool Aid, Monty!)

I am po'd about this whole situation because it is quite obvious that the Revs fans, and the Revs team, is once again 2nd rate in all of this. Why else would a game be scheduled for a Friday at 6:30, when fans from all over NE travel to home games? Can someone explain how these fans will get there in time for the game and please leave out the "leave work early" excuse because not everyone can do that. I doubt my principal will approve me leaving school early for a soccer game. If you're lucky enough to be able to scoot out of work early, good for you, but the point is, the majority of us can not.

I do not CARE about accommodating some other team, unless it is a U.S. team. I am so sick of the argument that we will see a "world class" team here and blah blah blah. MLS soccer may not be as much of an attention getter as the leagues in Europe and South America, but I blame you people who make such remarks. It is you people who stir up negative sentiment about American soccer but will pay through the nose to see other international teams play in your own local stadium. All these people who will come out to support Brazil, like they have all the other international teams in years past, will just start pouring in to future games in droves. Riiiiiight. We have all seen this and know how it works out: they don't come back.

I think of the ignoramuses waving the Mexico flags the other night in support of Blanco. Do you think those idiots will come to another game, unless Blanco or some other Mexican player or team is there? I doubt it. But sure, let's get all amped up about filling up our stadium with fans who don't give a crap and will not be back anyhow. And to anyone who says "just try it", you obviously haven't been attending games very long. The eurosnobbery and southamerica snobbery in this region makes me sick. I can't wait to see it in action June 6th.

That is, after I've spent countless hours in my car in the cluster **** that I will face, no matter what time I leave work.

But hey, at least I get to see Brazil!

Still this is pretty retarded. Tickets go on sale friday, and in a couple of hours to season ticket holders and the reps don't even know the price (or at least MD doesn't).

    Wholly cow, $40 for parking!

They gotta stop having these once in a lifetime events every year or Framingham will enter into a depression.

$40 is what is normally charged for NFL games and since he is selling the 300s then he's treating it as a football game.... he loves soaking the working guys.

He can charge whatever the heck he wants. It's not like he's engaging in class warfare. Consumers need to sit this one out of they think it's bullshit and NFL fans need to go out and achieve if they want to attend live games.

However, I think this speaks volumes about their approach. They know these people don't come back, so they just figure they can get all their money at once and not worry about bitter customers not returning.

The problem is they are marginalizing the loyal Revs fans who aren't STH's.

    Hey, f*ck you.

No, seriously--you post this kind of sh*t on a Revs board? Who the f*ck are you? You were already wrong about the Superliga semis and finals being set at HDC (and I was right), so what other pieces of ignorance can you spew?

Why don't you host the Bush library in your own f*cking "house" in West Warwick, you piece of sh*t, since they don't even want it at SMU.

Or are you a transient with a mullet hanging out near the DMV in Arctic like 95%of your town?

Garrett will lead the charge to run a train for any female Brazilian fan attending the match

    um

  17. Ditto! I love the Rev's but the amount of weekday games this year along with the price of fuel is really making me think twice about renewing my season tickets.

Feel better now? Maybe I should ask again after the toxins clear the liver.

Just a little note here: A link to something taking a small jab at what is now obviously clear to be hero worship on your part doesn't deserve a barrage of wildly thrown prejudiced insults.

Pretty much about the same. They may have raised some of the prices a little bit (I paid only $45 per seat for lower bowl behind the goal last year, though I may have gotten a STH discount).

I could be wrong, but wasn't parking only $25?

Another thing, why do they use the first time Brazil played in New England in a long time as precedent for a policy? They sold that game as basically a once in a lifetime game against a very good opponent. The part of the email which reads "As is standard for International Soccer Events at Gillette Stadium, there will be a $40 parking charge of $40" is silly. It looks like they think we are dumb enough to believe they had no choice in the pricing and they are just following what the rulebook tells them to.

Did they charge $40 for the Ireland game?

Parking was $40 for Brazil last year. I don't know that they had it for Ireland, but I'm not sure about that. I bought my season tickets partway into the season and I can't remember if I had them by then. But I definitely did not pay for parking for that game.

Can anyone PM me the Center Circle newsletter? I just logged on to find that I had not opted in - did not even know there was one!

Gold Cup games, which are quite international, were $20 for parking.

It was definitely $40. I think you might be confusing it with the parking charge for the AC Milan - Chelsea game back in the day which I think was that much (can't confirm though as I didn't attend).

Considering they think we are dumb enough to believe that this is a "marketing opportunity" rather than a "money grab", can you really be surprised? Truth is, as I think you mentioned in either this or the other thread, they are free to charge what they want so long as they believe people are willing to pay it. Judging from I personally witnessed last year, people are certainly willing to do that. Yes, Venezuela is not the same type of caliber as Mexico. But believe me, so long as the Brazil first-team was showing up as they did last year (and will this year... this match is their final WCQ tune-up), they could have played the Nantucket U-8s and 85% of the people in that stadium still would have come at the exact same price.

Can't speak to that one as due to my son's Scout overnight, we ended up giving those tickets, along with the parking pass, to a family friend.

OK, so if I wanted to bring my 14-month old daughter to the game it would cost us a minimum of $100. (2 tickets x $30 for the upper bowl + $40 for parking).

    No, I don't think so.

Yeah, Chowda is right that with free enterprise, the "working class millionaires" that own our beloved team are entitled to charge whatever they think people will pay, but I don't have to like it.

And I guess this puts me squarely behind the Monty Jihad, since this game was originally at 3:00 Sunday, and I was going to bring Isabella, but not now.

Have a good time at the game for those of you who go, but I will have to come back some other time.
